Finally got mine installed today! Love the remote start and the two way transmitter. Wifey likes it too!

You used the XK06 module? My friend at best buy said that that module doesn't have the remote start in it. I take it the 5701 itself has it?

read this thread frm the beginning...it covers most everything you need to know. install would be a PITA unless youre very good w/ electronics. you need to purchase a bypass in addition to the alarm.

The XK06 is good but there are different firmwares and this guy couldnt program mine. We like the alarm but I'm perplexed. I armed the system, sat inside for a while and then unlocked and opened the door from the inside. Nothing went off but I'm probably over thinking things as always. On another note, I'm on a thing about ethanol and how it affects the PCM's fueling. Really interesting when you realize 100% gas (E0) is being cut with ethanol EVERYWHERE. In Atlanta its E10 at all the pumps...

Think it means your gas isn't actually all gas, even if they don't tell you it has ethanol in it. Lots of places do that, especially in the winter in colder climates. Less emissions.

Tuna--I *think, depending on how your installer does it, if you lock and unlock the doors through the normal switches it arms and disarms the alarm automatically. If your battery dies in your remote, for instance, you still need to drive your truck. You unlock the door with the key, the alarm isn't going to go off.

That's how my installer explained it, anyway.

No worries about the bypass. Narco, you're here with me here in Atlanta so were stuck with E10. Basically, E0 burns stoiciometrically at 14.63 AFR. E10 is 14.05 AFR. No big deal as 02 sensors read for stoich regardless and correct for it in closed loop. Theres some minor issues when you go WOT, basically if not adjusted the vehicle runs a little lean. Now I understand why the stock GM cal was so damn rich in WOT!

Just paid for mine shipped to Stn. Mtn, GA for 101.96 shipped. This will be my 2nd mod if you wanna call it that next to my cd player. I'll be getting the XK module from Best Buy hopefully discounted since I know a few people that work there. Also I'll be either checking with Narco and TunasTwins on where they went for the install. Unless Best Buy has a good employee discount on the install. I read through all 15 pages of this forum before I made the purchase and everyone seems to be happy with it so far. Now wondering what next mod should be; System, Drop, Tune, Intake, Exhaust...Decisions, decisions, decisions man I tell ya.

Will do, I went by a local Best Buy just to get quotes on their services. 200 for alarm install, 79 for the module and you had to pay a little bit more for them to even install the module. I'll be getting a quote for the employee discount here soon. Then I'll post up the discount price on the module.

The difference between the 5701 and 5901 is just the remote distance and the remote itself right.

Well the antenna as well, the 5901 has double the range of 5701.
You can take the 5901 antenna and hook it up to a 5701 brain and use the 5901 remote with a 5701 brain as they are the same besides antenna/remote..which the 5901 remote is a nice LCD one
