This exact issue happened on our 2022 Chevy Tahoe Z71 a few weeks back. Remote started, got in and hit the button, no start. Got all dash lights and seemed to have full power. I decided to jump start as a last resort and all was fine, started right up. Had a check engine light for a few days that also reset itself and had the battery tested at an independent shop, as this happened the week of Christmas and the dealer couldn't get me in. They claimed the battery was "perfect". I actually haven't tried remote starting since then, should try it again soon to see what happens.
I have same year and model (2022 Z71 Tahoe). The EXACT same issue occurred on mine as described above. Roadside assistance came out and used NOCO jump starter. They don’t recommend jump starting from other cars given all the electronics on these vehicles. Tahoe started and check engine light stayed on for at least 24 hours then went off on its own and has run OK since then but only have used push button start. Was told not to use remote start until GM sends out a software update. Be careful when using remote start. Mine did work a few times before the time ot decided not to work.

Out of curiosity, are you guys having the issue by using the key fob to start it, or the app? The times my wife had issues, she was using the app…just wondering if the key fob is okay to use.

Okay. Figured such.

Also, anyone had an issue with the vehicle locking and not unlocking using the app? One time her vehicle locked the keys in the car, and using her app she still couldnt get the vehicle to unlock. Im sure it is part of the same type of issue.

Is that problem affecting all three engines? Or just the gasoline ones?

Any word on a permanent fix for this? Doesn't appear to be any way to test this other than using remote start and hoping for the best. Is that correct?

as long as it has some kind of angle to it the space can be tight on some of these trucks, not even sure what type of post the new trucks have probably a top post, on my 18 it's top post but the ground can be taken off pretty easily because the nut is on top, I have a little reversible 8mm/10mm with plastic trim so you don't weld anything lol

It is simple to get to on a high country. Not sure of the other models, but probably simple also.

I like that, i might buy a set of them to keep in the back.

Along those lines, do you have any suggestions for a "general" tool kit that fits in the awkward/shallow under-floor storage in the back of the tahoe?

Was thinking something like this:

No suggestions regarding tools unless you are out of warranty and travel out of town, otherwise your best friend would be a obdii scanner to read codes at least if something pops up, those you can throw in the console or glove box.

NO, it's a software bug, if the problem occurs: remove negative battery cable for a minute and re-attach, drive on your merry way.....
welcome to Android
***just keep a 10mm handy in the glove box
That is all good advice, I have a 10mm in my ride now...that said, GM should fix this (assuming they can find the bug in the __M lines of code on this vehicle.
