Today I drove the 01 to limp it around and get it up to temp since I was moving it’s parking spot, first time in almost a month no other vehicle can compare. Need to get her tranny fixed! Thought about selling and after driving it again never could. Like it more than my new 4 runner.

Bought a Ferd Edge (2008) for my son this weekend. He's 16 and totaled his Escape. The Edge is beautiful, like pristine. Some little old lady absolutely loved on it forever, it's got some high miles (177k), but it is SOOO much nicer than my Tahoe. My wife told me to keep it for myself since we got a good deal on it, sell my Hoe and we'll buy something else for my son.

Nope. I'd love to have a nice vehicle where everything works and it's comfortable to boot - but I can't get rid of my Hoe.

Not axle seal output shaft or should i say pinion seal on front diff.Looks like the only important thing to do is tighten it back exactly the way it was. After you make sure bearings are not loose and shaft is not worn badly.I will get this done soon.Gotta find a newton meter torque wrench.I cant believe with how popular these vehicles are their is not one video on you tube about how to replace the front diff pinion seal in car.

What you need to do is mark the shaft and the nut (center punch both), count the turns as you unscrew. R&R seal and install the nut back in its place, it's that simple. You will need a cheater bar to get the nut loose and to tighten back up.

I haven't noticed anything that is obviously torn up. I bought a caliper to measure everything, but to be honest I don't know what I'm doing, lol.

I gotta go rent, maybe just buy the balancer puller.
Also, how do I get these lifters out in good enough shape to re-use them?
I heard there is a tool, but I got distracted by cams while doing my research, lol

I've always used a 3-jaw puller from the 3- (or 4-?) piece set from Harbor Freight. I did grind some off the jaws for clearance. It's not as easy as the actual puller tool, but suits my rare uses fine.

I have nothing on the lifters. I've never had any bad enough to not come out. Will they drop through the bottom?

I tried to pull the cam out while the lifters we're still in there, with the engine upside down, and it was binding up. After I puller the lifters out with pliers and probably destroyed a few, the cam was still not wanting to come out. Found the problem afterwards.
Extra wide cam bearing... Lol
