If you have some billets made you can run 9” wide up front with the backspacing needed to get the tires inside the fenders more. Might have to buy some custom control arms but anything is possible. My Silverado is bagged and bodied but I can drive with the pinch welds 2” off the ground easy.

I have been wanting to drop mine too...only maybe 2" front and 2 or 3" rear. Was told that tires will suffer as will ride. Is it true? Sorry for my ignorance, in my older age im liking autos and speed..hopefully

No and no. Neither will suffer if done right as in drop spindles for the front and good quality drop springs for the rear with shock extenders so the shocks don’t bottom out. An extra benefit will be better cornering and less nose dive on hard braking.

Did you remove your lower coil spring isolators? I'd like to drop mine at least another inch.

These wheels will more than likely be the final ones. I drive the truck way too much to run something bigger with a smaller tire. For instance, I daily the truck and just drove 600 miles for a car show

The rear is just a 6” drop spring still with isolators but there’s well over 1200lbs in audio equipment behind the second row. With no sir in the helper bags, it measures right around 10” drop in the rear

I’m sure you’re finding out one of your biggest issues once the tires start tucking in the fenders is turning sharp. That’s why I mentioned having custom offset wheels made. I forgot to mention the possibility of buying tires that are a stretch fit. I’m running 265/30-26’s on 9” wide rims on my bagged Silverado which leaves the sidewalls rounded instead of squared off. It sucks to have a tire catch the inside of the fender lip and destroy the fender. I couldn’t get a good pic of the sidewall but this kinda shows it. Being static you don’t have the ability to hit a switch and raise the front for turning like I do so it looks to me like you’re going to have to figure something out. You have very little clearance between your tire and fender with the control arms/ tire and wheel combo you have.

what 6 inch rear drop spring did you go with? I am planning to go lower in the spring. I'm at 2/4 but want to go to a 4/6. I will be adding fender flares and will obviously have a lot of trimming to do in front to get much lower. Not too many rubs with the set up I have now though, I did the norcal fender mod and gave myself a lot of extra room.

Anyways...

I've been reading over the last few days that a lot of the springs are misrepresented and don't drop to what they're labeled. Do you, or anyone, have recommendations for a true 6 inch rear drop? Thanks

Definitely not the wrong offset, I sought out this fitment. Might be rhe wrong offset to some people but that's not what I'm asking about. I'm asking if people know of a true 6 inch drop rear spring? Thanks

Aha. Going for the wide body look? Are you planning on cutting the rear fenders too and adding flares back there? Looks like you’ll need to with that setup. I’ve seen a few done like that. I don’t have a line on 6” drop springs but you can always cut a couple coils out of some 4” ones, that’s what some have done.

Yeah I am going for the muscle truck type look (and performance)... low and wide... i will more than likely have to cut the fender lips out back as well. I'm no stranger to this style, I've built 2 other widebody vehicles so far, never a truck/suv though.

I might resort to cutting some coils out of the belltech rears if I can't land on something more certain. I have read about guys swapping for springs that are advertised as lower than they currently have but yet they end up higher then they started. Just trying to do some research before I waste money and time lol I'm too good at wasting both

It's never an exact science with springs. There are so many variables and everyone posting up their drops use different standards. Hell, even Tony himself compares his drops to others' drops referencing fender lip-to-ground measurements. Wheel and tire packages, air in the tires, long body-versus-short body vehicles, ALC or non, weight in the cargo hold (empty or with the third row installed and/or tool boxes or massive sound systems), people measuring while parked on uneven or sloped driveways, stock springs being worn out yielding a lower starting height, people using different front and rear drops (yes- front drop can affect rear drop and vice versa), variances in the drop spring's manufacturing between batches, etc. Hardly anyone measures before and after suspension changes and when they do, it's often rough estimates or there were other variables introduced during the process. Then, there's the fact that two identically-built trucks might have sat differently ever since they rolled off the assembly line due to simple manufacturing tolerances.

You can use others' experiences and results to get a general idea and might even get the exact same results. It's just not guaranteed.

Apparently, Tony had that 6" spring custom made for the kits he put together and it's not available by itself. IIRC, the DJM 4230 (for the Trailblazer) drops a fullsize SUV about 5". It's softer than stock so if you cut a coil or so to get more drop, you'd also increase the spring rate, putting the load capacity and ride quality closer to stock. I think @Byoung1330 is running these coils. If you have the BT coils that have the first couple of inches compressed and touching, you can cut those off for more drop. They're only acting as spacers so the ride quality won't change.
