Has the fancy nivomats in the back. One of them is leaking slightly but no rear sag in the back. I quoted them at just a hair over $500 for a new pair. I'm looking for comfort and ride performance. I don't want an increase in height with a diff setup but what is everyone going with for optimal performance.

-Basically tell me what you have replaced them with and your impressions?? Up front I have KYB monomax (Grey ones) for the appropriate ride code.

- I am well aware new springs might be in order to match diff shocks.

If you dump the Nivomats for simple shocks, your springs will not be up for the task. The ones you have are softer to work with the Nivomats. If yours were mine, I'd put on new Nivomats.

I should have made this clear in the post. I understand the springs currently on the truck are matched to the nivomats. I don't mind replacing them if needed.

Your overall best bet is to replace the Nivomats. If you purchase other shocks AND replacement springs, you will find yourself in the vicinity of the cost of replacement Nivomats, and you won't have to purchase and install resistors to avoid codes in your DTC.

An option is to look at upull or LKQ yards for used Nivomats with lower miles. A long shot, but it's possible they have some.

No wires with Nivomats Joe. That's what your high dollar Denali needs though! hehehe

Do you remember the price? I am finding these priced all over the place?
Honestly I was so upset at the cost I didn't even care to look at details. Invoice was just a bit over $600 for both.

That is what I paid from GM Direct, order is still processing so hopefully it fills. Local GM dealer is asked 550 or so each…

I run coilovers in front and Tony’s springs with dual adjustable shocks in the rear.

Looks like my price for $250 shipped for 2 rear shocks isnt such a bad price after all.
