21 Yukon Denali 2wd

So I was looking around and found me a metallic Denali 2wd that I love. I put down a deposit over the phone so no one would buy it before I could get off work and go get it. He sent me a exact estimate after I got off the phone and it comes to 90k. Sticker price is 76k for it. He told me that they are adding in an extra 10k for market price adjustment. Does this sound off to you. 10k is very steep and basically a down payment. I would understand 2k at max but that’s high. Says that they are adding it in on every Yukon. Every other dealer around me isn’t. Is this a bit much or am I just a drama Queen?

I have seen quite a few dealers adding on $5k to over $10k as a “market adjustment”, typically in larger metropolitan areas. I personally think it’s too much. There are a few dealers around that are charging only sticker price and a handful that will take a little off.

On a 2wd, I’d tell them to F off….Unless you are in the Deep South, no 4wd cuts the resale on these big SUV’s Drastically…..Its just expected…..

I 2nd Stbentoak's comment. Tell them to pound sand. There are plenty of dealers selling at MSRP. I just purchased again last weekend for slightly under MSRP (military) discount. NO 2wd should go for that amount ever. Heck, you could fly to another dealer across the country to pick up one and still save yourself thousands.

2wd do not have a much lower resale value than the 4wd. 2-3k is the norm. You guys are making it seem it’ll be 10-15k difference.

You’ll be fine with a 2wd and the mechanical lsd. Just don’t try mud, but I doubt anyone would on a Yukon unless it’s an AT4.

Now as far as the 10k mark up. Yup, seen as high as 20k mark up here in SoCal.
Can’t blame the dealer. Blame the dummies that actually pay that.

If you love it, buy it. It's a seller's market right now but if you have the time to diligently search across country and can act fast, you'll likely find another for less.

Being from the upper Midwest, I've owned at least 12 4wd or AWD vehicles over the last 30 years. Not a single one ever gave me any driveline or "4wd crap" issues. Saved my tail many times in blizzards and midwestern weather. Flat out returned more money when sold....

Spending 10k over MSRP is crazy to begin with, especially for a first model year that has seen several issues regarding engine troubles. Don't let the dealership / sellers steal your money, there will always be other Denali's out there. This is just my friendly opinion

Being from the upper Midwest, I've owned at least 12 4wd or AWD vehicles over the last 30 years. Not a single one ever gave me any driveline or "4wd crap" issues. Saved my tail many times in blizzards and midwestern weather. Flat out returned more money when sold....

Happy for you. If you’ll notice, my post says “not for me.” I have no plans of ever living anywhere a blizzard happens regularly. It still doesn’t change the fact that the parts are very much in the way of everything on the bottom of the engine.

Your opinion is a regional one. Here in South Florida 4wd is not desirable at all. I would never buy one or pay extra for it. People here seek out 2wd only. Its more desirable and sellable here. 4wd sit around here, few want them. being this is the area we would be trading or selling later on 2wd is what you want. I came from up north and understand your feeling.....but i will never be near snow or ice ever again and only visit up north in warmer months.

Besides some folks hate math so having an equation on their rig is just pointless…

I would not be paying that markup.. The dealers are just being greedy right now, and they can, because buyers will pay it.. Not this kid.

Theres a local Cadillac dealer selling a Esky ESV for 37k over sticker. The MSRP is already 112k. so 149k for a Esky? Thats like G-Wagon territory. No thanks!
