speaking of wetness....
so when i first put it back together i just put some water in it, to make sure nothing leaked, make sure it stayed cool, etc. didnt want to waste antifreeze if i had to drain it back out. had water in it for a week or two. figured all was good...drained it/blew it all out, put in antifreeze. i know its a pita to fill, but i filled it, let it sit, circulate the pump, fill some more, circulate some more, etc.... i do this for like 2 days till it stops dropping. it didnt take that much btu i figured there was still a lot of water in the block, heater isnt looped in, no reservoir no big deal.
couple days later and temp starts rising, figured i was just pushing it harder whatever...up and up they go. i get back from a short run and am hesitant about pulling the fill cap. got rag over it, glove on, face shield... i back it off a little- nothing, a little more- nothing...pull it off and its like theres nothing in it. ***. so i just start filling it with water and it took a good bit of water, forced the hose on there and let it fill for a while and could feel more air bubbles coming back out so i dont fn know.
also having ac issues - for starters the accumulator/dryer im using is for an r12 system, so i put the adapter to used r134 in it, guess the shrader valve got damaged or something cause the cap was the only thing sealing it up so i swapped the adapter out with another one i had and seems to hold fine but i need to recharge the system now. but, the ac works fine for a while then the pressure on the sensor right after the compressor go way the **** up (like 350+psi) after its on for a while. im going to try a different orifice valve in the cabin system. i may have messed up a little introducing air while charging the system the first time so im going to vac it all down again and be a little more diligent this time around.

gave it another shot....vac'd down the ac for about 20 mins, let it sit another 20 mins...started up truck and started recharging. started smelling something cooking, saw some smoke. gauges stayed looking good, wasnt quite done filling it but shut it down to find out wtf. compressor looked fine, spun free by hand. hmphh, tried to start it back up - nothing. checked everything again, jacked it up and crawled under it - the gdamn starter was stuck with the gear out and about a billion degrees. i ordered a new ac delco but wont be here till next week i may grab a cheapy locally so i can do something with it this weekend

At least it's a starter and not the compressor. Do you have any issues with basic starters turning the stroker over? Buddies 408 kept burning up starters so he got some power master super starter and it spins it twice as fast now.

not really, i have up'd all the power cables though. it was just a stock one (1.7kw?) for a 6.2. bought after the last one took a wrist pin and broke the mount off.
i bought the same part no. and amazon had a next day available on a different one - which i think is a gear reduction type that i also ordered
