I just drove 250 miles north to Topinabee, Mich and picked my 91 yr old mom up from her appointment. Then 7 miles to Burt Lake. Driving up I 75 by myself I managed 95 mph in a couple spots. Tires need balancing. Or the AWD of the Denali has more shakes than I realize. Got 15.2 mpg and most of the time spent at 80+ mph.

EDIT: Hit some rain too...

A little progress today. Sunday is probably metal saw day. View attachment 305546View attachment 305547

I know some guys that did that to their S10's way back when.
Reports that it worked quite well when crawling around off-road at low speed.

Also this is where my air tool addiction would be handy.
Air saw/body saw!!!

I ordered one while being driven home from ocktoberfest...
(Not so sober me likes to buy sober me gifts, not so sober me is very thoughtful :hahano: )

I used it to chop through a metal roof when redoin the roof on my motorhome project.
Like a hot knife through butter!!

Afterwards i never really found a good use for it.
until i saw this video.

So i decided what the heck, and bought a bunch of different blades.
Yup, i love this thing.
Using the courser blades, it's like a hot knife through mild steel!

I bought them from the same company. Direct purchase with shipping was cheaper than Amazon and free shipping.

I looked at options to see what I could do without cutting the reinforcement beneath.

cut around it
You don't need a solid hole
Just area to pass through, and it would tie it together better IMO.

ETA: paint the structure underneath flat black or something that won't show through the vents.

Cut from up top with a cut-off wheel on a grinder, just deep enough to slice through the skin. And, as @Just Fishing suggested, paint the ribbing flat black.

I think the large center one would complement the two existing ones nicely in form and function.

My Jeep crawler fabricator buddy put louvers all over his XJ hood with small aux cooler fans underneath.
