i compared one of my new H3 mounts to the mounts i took off of my hoe, and they look identical except for the heatshield.
it's smaller on the H3 mounts.

I assume that's because the fluid filled original mounts needed more heat shielding, so they gave it a larger air gap.

Also when you go to remove the mounts.
The bottom nuts are captured.
just onbolt from the top.

I was all trying to hold the top and unbolt from the bottom...:oops: :fc5716bd:

I used them briefly for a few months, they make a lot of dust and squeak like hell but they do stop you. Now I am using the new Duralast elite copper-free ceramic, they work quite well, no dust at all, silent, once those wear down I have set of the Baer eradi-speed 15" rotors to put on with a new set of the copper free pads, I just can't bring myself to spend $4k or more on brake upgrades I'll just push my foot harder lol

copper free is important if you live by the sea or something like that...
kills the fish or some crap i hear, the copper.

:D

if anyone was wondering.
copper free is not a "better braking" feature.

Thought it was h2 mounts not h3.

me too, but that's what the pn brought up.
I pretty much blindly clicked the "Buy now" button once i found a low price (paid $77 each).

I always thought the H3 had an inline 6 or something like that, and more based off of the tailblazer chassis.
and the H2 was more like a tahoe chassis

They market them as 3x the performance of there old pads, time will tell, a set of premium ceramic usually last me about a year and half, factory pads last me about 6 months, the last set of "police pads" lasted me about a year.

Just noticed when I went to pick up dinner that the drivers headlight bulb is out. It's only a year old, lol. Guess I'll be pulling the housings tomorrow and changing both bulbs.

On another note, filled up with 22 gallons of E85 today @$2.09/gal
The last 3 tanks were Mobil 93 octane from our spring break trip to New Orleans. She missed the E85, and I can feel the the difference, even at only 50% ethanol content because of still having 9 gallons of 93 left in the tank.

still waiting on the machine shop to complete the assembly balance...

got bored last weekend, sunday amazon finally delivered the part i needed for my RC car.
they were two days late...

then a good 20min modifying that part to fit.

then a good 2+hrs tearing up my backyard!

sun in my eyes, using a tree to get it out of my eyes.
Didn't see my fire pit, basically a 55 gallon drum trimmed down.

Left a big dent in the fire pit, rc seemed fine...
kept rocking it!

I hit that drum maybe 3-4 times at full speed...
:jester:

finally when i was finishing up, i tossed the rc onto the ground and herd a clank

then noticed the front end had a bit of angle to it...

Right at the weak spot!
to be fair, i was warned about it, and to get the reinforcement plate installed.
forgot about it and here i am. :D

so new chassis ordered, and the reinforcement plate to protect that area...
ugg

Crossing my fingers for some parts this weekend, otherwise i'm going to be bored again.

Oh and if anyone is interested how much these things cost: https://www.rovanrc.com/1-5-buggy
Price went up a bit since i ordered mine back in feb.
Mine: https://www.rovanrc.com/product-rv305a-34

I also have a coupon code that might still work, if someone is actually interested that is. ;)

Pretty tough thing, i'm very impressed for the price.
And i paid about $410 for mine, shipped.

Parts everywhere for them.
Just use the search term Baja 5b in ebay, and amazon.

I have been addicted to RC cars since i was a little kid. :angels2:

My daughter pumped E85 for the first time yesterday in her 6.2 Sierra and noticed the difference in power and smoothness of the shifting on the way home. And that was at only 59%!

There are lots of E85 stations in Louisiana, around Baton Rouge especially.

I used to have a bunch of rc stuff. Had to sell it all to fund my racecar. Tranny blew and needed rebuild. I miss them.

drag car was a b4.1 team kit with sidewinder 1415 sct motor and esc

had an ofna 1/8 I put a hobby wing kit in it.

rustler vxl converted to a backslash as my basher that had the mamba max setup.

then I have a plain Jane b4.1 that I converted to a modified 3 window body and only ran 2s with mild gears to have fun an enjoy it without breaking anything. Had the factory associated rtr brushless setup.

One radio to rule them all

futaba 3pk

tons of parts and bolts and all sorts of rock fluids and batteries it’s insane the amount of stuff I had. I miss them a lot though but racecar!
