Hey all, my 2012 yukon SLT was in an accident so it's at the body shop for rear bumper repairs. While it was there, I asked the owner if he could add the tow hitch cover. He mentioned only the Denali had this cover? Is there an aftermarket cover that will fit the standard bumper? I'd like to get something quickly so I can have it paint matched.

Chevy had an add on option for them. I had one on my 08 LTZ; I think I found it on eBay. Was already color matched too

I think the LTZ trims on the Chevys had it also. At least my '09 Suburban LTZ had it.

I have not seen an option for the non-Denali/LTZ trim rear covers.

Might need to get an aftermarket bumper cover and hitch cover and get them painted.

He doesn't know what he's talking about. Should be the same one that the Tahoe and Suburban use. The Denali is a bit different/wider and covers the tire hoist cover also. The Escalades use the same as the Denali I'm pretty sure.

Does your bumper cover have the slots near the upper corners of the cutout for the cover tabs?

My bumper had a separate small cover for the tire hoist entrypoint. I attached the best pic I had before I dropped it off.

Yes, they were a GM Accessory. Dorman makes them as do others on ebay.

FYI: Denali and Escalade and 2009+ LTZ Chevy's have the wider or 2nd design bumper cover which covers the hoist access.

Too bad you can't mount them on the corners or sides. They might've helped with your parking lot damage.

Yeah in Summer, I drive around pretty much 100% of the time with my beast of a Thule bike rack on the back. I feel bad for anyone who runs into that.

How often have you been rear ended since you've started driving? I only have been once in 35 years, and that was 15 years ago.

Well, when you do stuff like create “traffic breaks”, You increase your chances of someone wanting to stick something up your tailpipe.

It's hard to hear the sarcasm in my posts.... lol

I think if a person has a problem with getting rear ended a lot, then maybe it's a problem with the way that person drives and not a problem with everyone else

on my old car it took 2 years for state farm( the other party's insurance) to settle.. too

I got double what the car was worth..(they had no choice it was that or small claims for the max amount which is 10k as they re-accepted other liabilities) it was just a junker car anyways I got rid of it when it had 170k as it was "falling apart"... literally (metal had gotten eaten away and had a bunch of pin size hole leaks in it.) losing coolant, oil etc..

the only thing that worked good was the brakes and they stopped hard...

( was yielding for a fire truck when it happened)

I had no choice to drive slower remember there was an issue with the tire having tread separation or bubble and the issue with the brake pad...
Yeah...Imma callin BS on that. I just went back through what you posted and you were basically being an ass on the road.
Your ruptures tire was no where to be mentioned in that situation.
