I'm just saying, maybe it can be fixed but he doesn't want to spend the time to mess with it

hey if we can teach him to check a dipstick we can teach him to fix a wire

Did you guys not hear? He’s not the tinkering kind of guy!

No more crazy aftermarket stuff for me. If it's not plug and play or super easy, I don't want it. I'm just not the tinkering kind of guy nor do I have the time.

Well I got the 6.0 broken down over the weekend. Everything in valve train was mint, almost no carbon on the pistons, BUT there was some coolant in cylinder 7 at some point.

So I'm waiting on a quote from the machine shop to see if they can just hone it out. If not I will have it punched out to a 6.2 and use OEM LSA pistons; or if the price is right it might morph into a 408ci :naughty:

I'll also have the heads tanked and cleaned up too.

Is there some pitting in that cylinder? Was there a leak in the headgasket? Or 1 starting? How can you tell there was coolant at 1 time in it? Just curious.

Vary mild pitting, so mild that the leak down test was good. BUT I'm OCD and honestly gives me a reason to go bigger LOL.

Cylinders 1,2,3,4,5,6,8 were 0% on the leak down and 7 was only 2-3%. I honestly think I could throw it back together and be fine........but it would always be in the back of my head. Not only that I only want to R/R one time

In regards to the head gasket, not for sure or certain. The combustion camber did not present any evidence of a head gasket leak.

Listen here assholes, just kidding hahaha! You all got jokes.....

I'll gladly send it to one of you if you want to mess with it, I'll pay for everything.

I honestly don't have the time. 12hr swing shift 6 days a week doesn't leave me time to do anything sadly, why I have been on much in the past few months. Work started forcing 6 days a week so I barely have time to do anything.

I know it's just a loose wire/bad connection, I movessed with it a bit and had it working, but I guess it came loose.

Yeah you have no life except work with those hours. It’s just surviving to make it to the next week which seems like it’s last week which seems like there’s no weeks anymore just work work work day after day. There were some job sites in my union that were forced hours like that ( the Nike campus was one, they spent untold hundreds of millions on crazy new buildings) and I stayed away. It was supposed to last 6 months but Nike kept changing plans and it stretched into more like 2 years. There were guys who burned out and it wasn’t good. Be careful, take care of yourself and make it through.

I'm trying! Been doing 60hrs a week since July, and they started this 6 days crap after Thanksgiving. I'll be alright, trying to give all my time to the family.

Yeah, we are so short staffed it's not even funny. People used to sit in a hiring pool for years to work at this place, now we can't keep people to just drive a forklift for $25hr to start. It will at least be 6months before they cut back hours.

I'll be ok, I've paid off 15k in debt in the past 6 months because of working so much, so I'm not mad. Now saving up to buy some land/woods for a cabin, so I can get the hell away from everything when work slows.

I'll be alright, just coerce the family with gifts and the little time I have.

On a better note, I went and looked at the light and found the problem. It was a loose wire on the connection between the two plugs. The green wire was pulled out for some reason.

It's all fixed and working now, I messed with it and jiggled the wires around to make sure.

Thanks for the harassment gents and now to try and cancel the order for the other lights!
