pic updates to post #2417, here is the AMI billet bowtie added to the front...it adds a very nice look compared to the standard painted factory bowties. i always felt the GM bowties look out place when painted...and never liked the gold bowtie. this style from the 90-92 SS truck was my fave.

did a little dress up for visual aids, i had an extra set of coils cover laying around...they might get a script logo of some kind and i think an intake tube or full intake will make it more pleasing to look at when i service it.

50k on the trans fluid seems on a higher side for me. I’m doing 40k between flushes and filter changes, but I have a trans thermostat delete mod and max tow oil-to-air cooler. The highest trans temperature I’ve seen this summer was 180.

Link to the thermostat mod?

Ordered a set of new rubber for wife's Burb. The Chinese things that it came with are working fine, but I just don't trust them to last much longer, so decided to go ahead and take the plunge.

Got a set of Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus from Costco since they had a $150 rebate going on through this weekend. Guess it will take a week or so for them to come in. Never had Bridgestones in any trucks or SUVs we've had, so this will be new experience. Treadwear warranty is 80K miles, so guess we'll see.

This is also first time buying tires from Costco. For the past 20+ years I've always used Discount Tire, but they just don't seem to be competitive enough anymore, especially when they're nickel and dimeing you on fees on top of expensive tires. Saved almost 300 bucks all in at Costco since DT didn't want to price match.

Had an appointment for this afternoon to put the tires on and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with how they handled everything.

Tires look and ride great and are only three weeks old. Chinese rubber still had a lot to go and was thinking about taking them home to sell, but turned out two had nails, so left them there.

100k miles...changed the front and rear diff fluid. Hopefully I put the right stuff in there, after doing much reading and calling the dealer. I settled on 75w-90 in both. It has the Limited Slip in it, which I don't think it really needs, but everyone seemed to agree it will be good. It's hard to find the other without paying an arm and a leg for it, if you can even find it. Will double check it this morning to make sure it's not leaking.

Just for info purposes, in case others look, and for my own sanity check. All fill and drain plugs seem to want to be torqued to 24 ft. lbs. The rear diff cover, 12 bolt, 20 ft. lbs on each bolt in a star or criss cross pattern. If someone knows that's wrong, please let me know. Otherwise, it's here now in case others go searching for torque specs.

good info for sure, i am planning an Oil, Both Diff and Trans service since i am right at 50K. Probably doesnt need it, but being a newer to me vehicle, i dont mind (bought it with 43K)

I also just pulled the trigger to try these LED's as low beam heads...https://www.morimotohid.com/morimoto-2-stroke-2stroke-h11-led-bulbs?quantity=1

got a slightly better deal than what is listed here.

I have the 2stroke 2.0s in both high and low beams and am very happy with the light output. I am not very happy though with the pulsing whine they make before the fans warm up. Hopefully they addressed that in the 3.0 version.

KYB Gas-a-just rear shocks installed today to match the front struts PO had put on a couple of months ago.

Passenger side was somewhat a PITA. I don’t get why they couldn’t put the threads on the bracket instead of using bolt and a nut. Or at least welded a nut on the bracket. Access is stupid limited on both sides.

Wasn’t too bad, but still need to complain. :p

Took it for a test drive and while on the highway I finally got around recording logs for DiabLew tune. Hope to get the tune from Lew some time next week.

Yep, those rears are much more complicated than it needed to be.

Basically an overall productive weekend. The color matched grill and other pieces had several chips that needed to get addressed. We worked on getting all of the pieces pieces prepared then color matched. Also installed the color matched radiator cover when we got done with the color matching effort this afternoon.

Ain't that the truth! Again, not too bad since I got both done in about 45 minutes, but it sure needed quite a few strong words in between wrenching. So freaking easy in the pickup!
