Mud Flaps and Power Running Boards

Less than 30 miles and already a ton of debris on the running boards and behind the front wheels. GMC has mudflaps on the accessories website, but no mention of compatibility with power running boards, even when using my VIN as the compatibility driver:

Does anyone know what you can use for this or if these work?

My dealer says the GM mud flaps do not work with the Denali power running boards. On my earlier Denali I used Husky Liner mud flaps but they are not yet available. Hope they are soon because the front mud flaps really do protect the running boards.

I'm wondering if the running board couldn't be physically removed and shortened a few inches in the front and then say be re capped off, so they would clear the factory flaps. Someone who has the power boards now should take a serious look to see if this would be feasible or not. There is no substitute for the painted factory flaps...

i can’t understand why they would just smhave shortened the running boards 1” and made then work with the power boards. Its not like i will need running boards in front of the side view mirrors.

I find it hard to believe that they aren’t compatible... i went from stock to power steps and they line up to my fender exactly the same

this is facing the front of the car. Even if you tried to cut it. You’re talking precision cuts on the plastic and chrome... also the red line, I don’t recall if the end cap even goes down or across the entire board.. I’d have to look at it later

Well I think they could be cut accurately with a Miter saw and a fine blade. The question is if there is a plug in in the end that could be removed and replaced if you could take an inch or 2 off of the long tubular part of the board. It may not be that easy. Highly don't understand why they wouldn't allow for this....

Snapped these pics this morning. Definitely looks like the caps come off. But now it’s getting close to that wire harness? However I won’t be cutting my boards to find out lol.

Yes that wiring position probably pretty much kills the deal....It would be nice to know just how badly they DO interfere with the stock flaps.. is it just barely, or does it just slam right into the side of them when held up there?

The Husky flaps work in the front with the electric running boards. Installed mine on a 2017 Yukon Denali yesterday.

I have the 2021 mud guards from the Chevy accessories website but they didn't come with instructions and the dealership couldn't get instructions or figure it out either. So they still sit here in a box. And as goofy as it sounds there's quite a few parts and screws etc.

I'd really like them attached because I do agree it is a mess and there's no other options available yet.

FYI. I just ordered Weathertech mud flaps for my 2021 Yukon. In the order form they ask if the running boards are stationary or retractable. So I guess they make both.

I ordered and installed Weathertech on a Z71 with stationary boards. When I was ordering them, if you have power running boards the website would not let you order a front set of splash guards.

I just pulled up the site and had no trouble selecting front and rear splash guards for the power boards.

Hey folks, I ordered the weather tech mud flaps for my 2021 Yukon Denali with the retractable running boards. When you order, they will ask if you have the retractable running boards or the stationary ones. Mine had the retractable.

This installation was easy and no drilling was required. It uses the same screw mount holes that are holding some exterior together. Total time to install front and back was probably about 40 mins.

I then tested the running boards as they deployed and with them fixed up and down. No issues. It works great!

Yeah I put them on my Z71 today, no power boards but super simple installation and great fit on the WeatherTechs. Color and texture also a perfect match. Highly recommended.
