Thecopcar came with no console like many others. I bought it purposely for a weekend, going camping rig. So utility was a large factor to me. I saw a picture of a Jeep with an ammo can. How cute, they can fit one whole can between the seats. I did four.

First a level playing field. I bought a Hoe specific floor plate from Jotto, about $150. The ammo cans were filling a corner in the garage, so free. After the floor plate was mounted I measured the cans an drilled two holes in each to bolt them down. They were spaced to not only allow the lids to open, but any one lid can be removed without disturbing the others or the cans.

After a bit I realized a spot to hold a tablet would be awesome.

While I was at it, some usb outlets and a cigarette lighter socket. Coming soon, the cigarette lighter will be swapped for more usb outlets.

Every utility vehicle needs a working dog.

Then, while I was at it, I decided I didn’t need an overhead console that didn’t really do anything for me.

I mounted a radio speaker instead, with the cable running down the A pillar to the ham radio in the console.

For even more fun, I made a bracket to hold the faceplate of a second radio up there.

Everything came out great. Great idea on the ammo cans. Is that a camara mounted where the rearview mirror was?
