Why not just get a known good running 5.3 or 6.0 to get it back on the road reliably and (relatively) cheaply? It won't be as fun as a cammed 6.0, but at least you won't be stranded if your work van claps out. You could always work on your hopped-up motor as time and money allows then swap it in during better times.

I really don't know. He says he picks up 6.0's when he can get them cheap.

DAMN! You just put a thought in my head--what happens if it blows up within a week or 2 of getting it back??:rage:
I'd be screwed 1,000,000,000% over!!!
That’s a lot of %. But try not to worry, these things are pretty bulletproof unless something is put together wrong. What happened to your original 6.0 was a fluke, and what happened to the last one was due to your mechanic.

That might have to be my next go to if and/or when something happens to this--whenever the *** it's done--6.0.
TBH. This is my preference. I want to buy a block and build it myself. I don’t currently have the tools, supplies or time to do so, life has been crazy, but this is 100% what I want to do. Piece it together.. take your time.. save a little here.. a little there.. get the absolute best components you want / can.. I mean.. I wanna be like Randeez... I wanna build that muthafuckah!!

When you build it yourself...you only have yourself to blame when it runs like shit :deal:
