Thx. Found it from a guy in Washington state--your neck of the woods Mark. I just hope it's not gonna be a ***** to figure it all out.
It’s easy. You only need one of those connectors, the one for the OBD port. And you don’t need the CANDI module, that’s for newer vehicles with CANBUS. You just need to install the card and the cable and hook it to the obd port and start messing around.

Can't wait to start messing with it.

I'm reusing the heads from my old motor. I just found out I have dual springs, and they sent me the wrong seals.View attachment 251797
Dropped the cam off today.
So I'm just gonna swap the new springs--beehive--and the seals to my buddy, for some $$ of the labor. F* it. Old motor never smoked on start up either.

talk about bad luck.

with the heads off a spring swap or seal job is super easy. have both heads done in like 30 minutes or less.

I see progress!! Nice.
I have one of them tech2 thingys. I have 3 handheld scanners, still got my old snap-on MT2500 “red brick” scanner, my HPTUNERS can do minor stuff but the tech2 is a handy little diagnostic tool. I agree, start playing with it and you’ll figure it out easily.

FWIW, if it were me, I would remove the valve springs, pull the valves, have the heads magnufluxed and surfaced, at the very least lap the valves and install new seals. But it’s your time and money and we all know the heads were fine before the bearing failure. It’s just what I would do because my motto is, “I’m right there”.

I was playing with the Tech 2 yesterday on my van. Seems like it's gonna take me awhile lol.
I'm just gonna run the heads the way they are--what could go wrong  lol.
