Rear end dope? Maybe something like this? Just trying to make sense....




The following is a true account:

A 26-year-old male arrives at the ER complaining of ****** bleeding. He is too embarrassed to provide an accurate history but provides the examing doctor a clue: “There might be something stuck in my rear end.” Examination reveals a non-tender abdomen, but a ****** exam shows blood coming from his ****. A speculum exam reveals bloody stool and a dead gerbil. Apparently, through the cardboard tubing from a paper towel roll, the rodent had been forced into his ******. Once the animal was in, the tube was pulled out.

The idea is that as the gerbil suffocates, it scratches and claws at the lining of the ******, providing an intense sensation to the patient. The rodent should then have been defecated, but the swelling and bleeding had caused the retention of the animal. The patient required pain medication and antibiotics after the animal was removed, but was then allowed to go home.

Alright well MPG only went up about 1-1.5 with the tiny tires and that is with the 13% change in rotation taken into effect. Little disappointed would have loved to see 18 or 19mpg but 16.5 it was with a good mix of city and highway.

Got the axle out, chopped the bumps, painted and got parts lined up.

Only real issues was passenger endlink bolt won't come out because exhaust is in the way and the exhaust won't move more that a inch. Also the free travel mod is a pain in the butt. Should have borrowed a plasma torch. Ate up probably 7 sawzaw blades and killed 2 batteries. Had to give my poor old porter cable cordless a break in from of a fan a couple times so it didn't catch fire. I could have done a better job on the driver side but the fuel tank is so close I decided to leave a little bit.

I put a piece of metal plate along the fuel tank so the blade couldn’t put a hole in is and I wasn’t afraid.

That's a good idea. Tomorrow I'll have help so maybe I'll make them hold a metal plate behind it. It's not in a place that will interfere with anything just looks ugly. I could have spent much more time grinding the frame to perfection but there's really no point. The frames on these things arent exactly art lol.

Hoping tomorrow to get the 9.5 in and make sure everything lines up. If theres enough room between the diff cover and panhard I'll order a girdle. If the sway bar fits without issue then I'll order a hellwig and shorter endlinks. Would really like to order some nice adjustable shocks but haven't done any research in what will fit.

That's what I was hoping for and the only reason I bought the QA1. Although I would have liked an adjustable bar as I might end up with a 3/5 drop.

I guess I missed the part where you bought the QA1. I’m dropped 2/4 and it works fine, I’m within 3/16 of being centered which isn’t enough to rub. The TA Performance low profile girdle fits, it’s close though. Don’t get the regular one, it won’t fit.

Ahh see that's what I'm afraid of. There aren't many options for the 9.5 and I don't think anyone makes a slim girdle. I don't mind taking a grinder to it if I need to massage it a bit.

Glad to see your only 3/16s off I can live with that. I didn't measure how far the factory setup was off but when I pulled the first bold out of the panhard the entire rearend shifted a good inch so I suspect it was binding a bit.

I've read your thread but don't remember what your dropped with. Spindles and springs?

Yeah I don’t see a slim girdle for that diff on TA’s website. You might email them for dimensions and measure after you install the panhard. And yes I’m lowered with 2” Belltech spindles up front and their springs in the rear.

That was the plan. It looks to me as though there will be a decent amount of space. Only spot I'm worried about is the driver side corner of the girdle which is easy to grind down.

Also hoping one of the 2 stock sway bars will fit without issue so I can order a Hellwig and better endlinks the angle of the factory ones is terrible with the 3" drop springs.

I just got a set of their spindles I'm planning a front end revamp in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to seeing how much the ride will be improved doing the spindle vs just dropping the bars.

The DJM endlinks are definitely the way to go- they’re the only ones I found that move the sway bar towards the passenger side by about 1” so the panhard bar bracket has clearance.
