Found the source of my rattling

If you feel the vibes in the steering wheel it is likely from tire wear caused by loose front end components and being out of alignment because of that or tire balance itself. I can assure you one thing though. Alignment will never cause a vibration unless the caster is WAY off. Doing an alignment will not fix a vibe unless it is the caster being way off. Tire wear that is already there will still cause vibes even if you align the vehicle. Get the front end, steering and suspension, inspected by a qualified tech and address as needed.

A bad tire can also cause vibes even if it shows no abnormal wear. It could have a slipped belt causing the vibes. If all tires look great and you swap front to rear and the vibe follows to the rear, feel in the seat of your pants, then you have narrowed it down. Or just go buy a brand new Tahoe or Yukon. That'll fix it for sure.

I have some Moog sway bar stabilizers to install along with front bushings.

New Yukon’s are cool, but this is paid off and I like doing as much work as I can. What would worn out struts ride like? It’s my understanding these Denali have a different setup. I really appreciate all of the suggestions!

Worn out struts can feel like too much sway, too much lean when turning and too much oscillations when going over bumps. It would have to have a mechanical failure, example: broken mount, that could cause some vibes I assume but I have never heard of struts causing vibes. Again, they can contribute to bad tire wear that will cause vibes as I stated earlier.

Looks same 2wd,4wd,awd because its the rear end...or rear differential to be technical... and here you go... from my 4wd tahoe

My tires are wearing evenly so that relieving.

Can someone with an AWD Denali take a pic of the rear of the shaft? Maybe that’ll give me a clue on what this thing is.

My 07 awd Denali doesn't have anything like that on either driveshft.

Your second pic shows that ring in tact at the front snout of the differential. Right where the pinion seal is at. Your ring is in tact and looks normal.
