I have never had to pay to get a chip fixed in my windshield. I guess I’ve always had an insurance policy that would cover the full cost of fixing a chip. If I’ve had to replace a windshield, however, I’ve had to pay for it as the cost is usually equal to or just slightly higher than my deductible and not worth filing a claim at all.

I pay cash for my vehicles and never have paid for comprehensive insurance. So you are actually paying for those rock chip repairs if you don’t get in any accidents, through your premiums. I have had only one at-fault accident in 45 years of driving and that was minor so I don’t see the need to pay that price for comp. I save $250-300 a month on insurance, so a chip repair here or there isn’t a big deal but it would be nice to do my own repairs.

True enough. I have always had comprehensive coverage on my main vehicles and consider it a reasonable cost. I have had more than a few claims that were not accident related. After a couple hail storms and more than a couple deer encounters, it evens the scale on premiums verses benefit. That being said, I understand completely where you’re coming from and understand that insurance companies are for-profit businesses.

When I got my 1983 Caprice, in 1993, from my parents I hit a deer a week later. My dad had just dropped comprehensive a week earlier so kind of the same thing just on a smaller scale.

Nope, it’s a very narrow window of trucks. 03-07. Neither of mine fall in that range. 02... nope. 08...nope.

If you lived in a city with high congestion, narrow lanes , bad weather and the worlds worst drivers, then you would know what is higher than the rest of the nation. My city has some of the highest rates anywhere. It’s ridiculous.

You forget shipping on parts and services
I’m just saying Alaska is higher than most of the nation. I know seattle and Portland have some of the most retarded drivers in the US.
A lot of them moved up here and are jacking our rates up, along with California people

Looking for some information I can't seem to find. I am wanting to change my bench 22nd row seats to captains chairs if possible. I have a 2006 Tahoe LT with the cloth interior. Is the captains chairs just a direct bolt in swap or is it not possible without major modification? Thanks in advance
