I used some epoxy, even though I didn't mix it properly it took a couple months to sort of cure but it's holding now for sure, the ring is basically just glued to the leather so I would just use whatever will dry clear so if you get a little to much on it you'll never notice, once I put it on there I just took a toothpick and cleaned the edges up, zip tied it together and let it dry, I wouldn't recommend the zip ties though if you are going to be driving it a shoe string wrapped around it and tied would work thoughmine is starting to pull away at the top.

mine is starting to pull away at the top.
A garbage can.
Ok, joking.
I just did the heated wheel upgrade and the non-wood heated wheels are out of production so I had no choice but to get the wood wheel. I'm trying out different 3M 1080 wraps to make the trim ring match my truck but i'm starting to consider just ripping that ring off and having the wheel re-leathered. It's expensive but that ring is just the worst. Such a frikin stupid idea.
Ha. Nice. If it didn’t leave a hole I would go that route. My heater went out a few years back. Got real hot one day then died. I have some 3M might give it a go as mine is only partially off from 10:00-2:00
I decided to swap to a non-wood heated wheel. They're mostly out of stock. But every now and then, a few pop up at some vendors. I lucked out and grabbed one just a few months ago. Easy swap. Took less time to change than re-gluing the old insert.
I got it from gmpartshouse.com back in May. Part number 22947767. Read through this thread below. It has links to multiple potential vendors, as well as the luck by which I got mine:Thanks, where did you find it?
Out of curiosity, I was poking around on eBay, and ran across this black leather wheel for a Hummer:

It looks like it would fit. And the button arrangement looks the same as my Yukon, except for two extra buttons on the left side rear. It might be worth researching to see if it's compatible. The connectors look identical. So it might actually be plug-and-play. It's <$200, too.
I found yesterday that 3M 1080 "Scotchprint" vinyl in "titanium" is an exact match for the Z71 "brushed aluminum" trim. So I have ordered some of that and i'm wrapping the spokes and trim ring on my Escalade wheel to match the rest of the trim. I'll see how I feel about that when its done and then decide if I want to stick with it or go ahead with the custom leather.
