Steering Wheel Track Control - Carplay Issue

My (2026 Z71) next track/song steering wheel control works intermittently with apple car play. The rocker switch on the left rear side of the steering wheel.

Sometimes it will work with Carplay, sometimes it wont. Leaving me to go to the next song using the touch screen.

Is this an Iphone issue or a GM issue? Both are running the latest software versions

My 2024 Tahoe Premier does this.

There is a GM TSB that lists issues with numerous GM radio software defects , and that GM Engineering is working on a fix.

The TSB confirms GM continues to sell new vehicles with known defects.

Mine actually does this too. I actually started to wonder if the next track/song control on steering wheel didn't work on apple car play?

2025 Yukon Denail 3.0l Duramax

Mine stopped working entirely along with the Audio Source List button (Musical note). In the shop now for that and the touch screen often becoming unresponsive. Also a CEL.

Dealer says it needs a new steering wheel??? which is on order. Also doing the obligatory "Software Updates to see if that helps" which were done last week for the same problems.
