Those Denali’s aren’t permaseal. I watched that part of the video and I can tell you, permaseal does not flex like that. It’s more like melted plastic but harder. It’s a hard epoxy like material. You can’t even cut it with a razor knife. Here's my Denali thread:
https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/update-04-07-2006-yukon-denali-winter-beater-sold.106950/
and here's the retrofit video I made:
whatever was on the Denali was not what was on these Chevy ones, and the Denali stuff was much easier
I was able to do those retrofits in about 30 minutes each
well whatever it was, it wasn't pleasant
pretty sure I destroyed these headlights. I ordered another set and will need to take my time removing the permaseal on the next set.
I'll also probably make a video of how to do the whole retrofit, since it was not nearly as intuitive as I expected based on people's postings.
good news, the lights look really good cosmetically

bad news, my light output sucks and these housings will probably fall apart soon
literally held together with duct tape and wood screws in some areas
should have some output pics tonight

also removed the lower valence lip thing that was on the truck.
still need to debadge and pull all the moldings off before winter
I thought those decals were supposed to go on the inside?
Helluva difference.cutoff actually isn't too terrible on the ghetto retrofit

it just looks like the brights on one of them is messed up
I'll probably have to take it apart to be sure, but I think the driver side shield isn't opening up all the way

Retrofit light output looks good! Really considering this!
All rear windows are tinted, wouldn’t be able to see them. Plus the actual size of seeable window is half the size of the actual window. Which is crazyLol...I was wondering about the same thing!

He was just trying to remove the projectors, not open the headlights. I’m guessing the repeated trips into the oven to soften the permaseal around the projectors themselves ended up melting the housings.I don’t understand, why do you have to take the lens off those lights when you just need to use the brackets and different bowl ?
Didn’t @Fosscore retro his depos ?

Try using epoxy instead of duct tape for those holes.I just got frustrated too early on when the permaseal wouldn't come up, so I ended up prying with screwdrivers and breaking off a lot of plastic on the housing. as a result I broke several of the mounting legs and left MASSIVE gaps that I duct taped to close, and prevent water from entering.
when I build the new ones, I take some pics of the old ones so you can all see what NOT to do
FYI, I carefully cut the lip around the edge of the projectors with a good razor knife in a couple spots so I could get started cutting, that lip isn’t important to save. also, instead of heating the whole headlight in an oven I used a heat gun on the projector base itself since I wasn't splitting the whole headlight open. That way I was able to just concentrate on the projector itself and probably got the permaseal hotter than in the oven. Heat gun, razor knife, heat gun, insert screwdriver, heat gun, razor knife, pry.
