Arrggh!! I rebuilt my leaky Hydroboost cylinder 2-3 years ago, and this morning I had just gotten to my office parking garage when it puked power steering fluid all over the floor. Hope it won't give me trouble getting back home. Checked O'Reilly's website and the local store is supposed to have re-manufactured units in stock. So, I guess I know what I'm doing for my Friday evening.
Done! Only took an hour and a half. Just hope the reman holds up. I know these don't have a very good reputation for reliability, but at least it has a lifetime warranty.

Is this the part we are looking at under the truck near the gas tank to replace with that code do you think?

That looks different from mine. This is what mine looks like.

That said, it looks like they do the same thing, just different shape.

However, when my Tahoe threw that code it turned out that the vapor canister purge valve was the culprit (solenoid seized). It is mounted on the front of the intake manifold.

Good info. I replaced that one near the manifold before. I will have to look back at my thread and see if that was the same code I got. Likely it is.

I might start with that one first since it is easier and see if the code clears.

IIRC the one at the tank is just turned on at start to purge the tank, but the one on the manifold gets a PWM signal when the engine is running to control how much it is open. So, the one on the manifold gets a lot more wear.

I chased that code forever. I would try that purge valve you replaced again, then the vent valve by the gas tank if the first one doesn’t fix it then the charcoal canister itself if all else fails. If you have a tech 2 you can check the valves although that didn’t help me for some reason.

Thx guys. No Tech 2 just the one in the first pic I got a while back. At least it gave me the code.

Will try that purge valve on the manifold and see how we go.

Polishing the long body now and my neighbors keep wanting to talk to me. Lol

Wife wants me to hang shelves (done) and the grass needs a trim. Dammit!! Priorities.

Got her polished up and waxed. I’ve purchased almost all the supplies I need to get this done, but just never seem to have the time. So paid a neighborhood guy to do a 3-step exterior treatment. Very happy with the results. She’s showing her age in the little paint chips, but considering a 15 year old GM paint job, I think she looks great! Will be doing the interior detail next..

Old girl had a bath today after I put the new power steering lines on last week and she had to sit for a while. I think the power steering has messed up the rubber bushings and such on the whole front drivers side.
