The 6.0 Denali already have true dual 3" exhaust up to the muffler. After the muffler it goes single. There's not to much to improve, maybe a better muffler. The 4.8/5.3 get a Y pipe and single 2.75" exhaust to and from the muffler.

Anyone know of a good exhaust system for the 05 denali? Every where I look I cant find one for the 6.0l everything is fod the 4.8 and 5.3. Is there a difference in the cat back between the engine sizes?

This. That’s why ARH or Kooks headers for the 6.0 are different than the 4.8 or 5.3. They replace the entire exhaust all the way to the muffler. After that, there’s not much left other than the short over-axle tube and turnout.

Replaced my front sway bar end links today. I was hoping that’s where my front end suspension squeak was coming from, but nope. I was trying to find the torque spec for them, and I remember reading somewhere here it is 17ft. LB’s , but having trouble finding / confirming that. Anyone have a reference to point me to?

I just tighten them until the bushing bulges a bit. Yours look about right.

Had some good finds at the salvage yard today. 1-piece rear wheelwell linings and a retractable-type underhood light from a 1990 Dodge Ram. My current light works, but sometimes I have to give it a tap to turn on. My driveway is on an incline, so I also have to tap it to turn it off - I don't like this method. Dead battery waiting to happen. I'm gonna kick it old-school.

I was looking for one of GM's new design valve cover which relocates the pcv valve away from #1 cylinder, but no luck.

For those of you who installed catch-cans : did you try the new valve cover design and still had oil consumption? What year were these new valve covers introduced. 2006 was still old design.

Here's my motor noise.
Any opinions welcomed.
Here's the condition of the View attachment 231625 View attachment 231626 View attachment 231627 header bolts.
sounds like lifter tick, I have never used sea foam but you might get lucky with some kind of cleaner or flush, my 03 did it for along time then after a oil change one day it just decided to stop, every once in a while after it has sat idling you can hear it very faintly but it has generally gone away.

I'm gonna have my buddy look at it. Better to be safe about it. Got way too much invested in the drivetrain. Just need to get it towed there.

Looking for a bit of input...

I have been having trouble diagnosing an issue, when I go to fill the gas tank it either sprays back at me or won't allow me to leave the handle pulled all the way up. Basically I have to hold the handle as low as it'll go to fill the tank and it takes a ton of time.

I have smoked the emissions system found no leaks, I keep getting the same P0446 code but it clears and stays off for weeks at a time. I guess I'm getting frustrated at this point, I have a suspicion it's the carbon canister needing replaced. Any input would be great.

Thanks!

I had a similar issue and a new carbon canister cleared up the problem.

pull the canister and see if little pellets fall out of it, if so then it will need replacement and you may need to blow also out the lines with air as well because the little pellets get stuck in the tube causing your problem.

Arrggh!! I rebuilt my leaky Hydroboost cylinder 2-3 years ago, and this morning I had just gotten to my office parking garage when it puked power steering fluid all over the floor. Hope it won't give me trouble getting back home. Checked O'Reilly's website and the local store is supposed to have re-manufactured units in stock. So, I guess I know what I'm doing for my Friday evening.

I was told that filling the gas tank as full as possible causes gasoline to flow into the canister. That causes the charcoal to become 1 solid block, which causes slow filling and the vapors no choice but to exit thru the fill spout.

Must just be German engineering - Audis/VWs have this be a common problem. Many on my other forum deal with this after pumping more in after the pump shuts off.
