o"well I got it done and have a nice new set of Craftsmen sae Allen wrenches now, lol
I was just missing the 3/8's
lolAlways like a reason to get tools. Once I needed a 10mm flexhead racheting box wrench. I paid $80 for that wrench and I got 7 other wrenches for free!
You sure got a nice lookin’ rear end now, just sayin’Ya, I kinda figured it would take a 1/2" Allen, but o"well I got it done and have a nice new set of Craftsmen sae Allen wrenches now, lol
I was just missing the 3/8's, the hardest part was beating the panhard bar on it fought me all way, took 2 sets of rubber mallets because there is no room under the truck to swing so I did it from outside the driver's wheel well, I put one mallet on the bar then smacked it with the other mallet

That’s the ticketya I had a brain fart, now of all the stupid little things I do not have is a 1/2" allen wrench, everything I have is metric or to small, off to the store again.
***so the fill plug is not 1/2", lol I don't know what it is at this point but I got it off
and can't tell yet what capacity is supposed to be paperwork say's most take 2qt, internet says anywhere from 2.2 to 2.41, this adds more room, so going to try and eyeball it, the fill hole is deep cant see in there, guess it's getting filled till it comes out the hole
lol, thanks and thanks for letting me know about these parts I only took it down the road and back to check for leaks, I don't know if I will be able to tell any difference from the panhard yet or not,it works, lol I jacked it up on both sides and it doesn't rub going up anyway. lower control arms were not supposed to be here till Monday but of course they showed up today right after I put everything away. You sure got a nice lookin’ rear end now, just sayin’![]()
after thinking about itThat’s the ticket
nice, wish I knew how to do more in depth engine work could sure save myself some money with some upgradesDamn this thread has been popping! Notifications quit showing up again. Tahoe is still broken, but tomorrow my Texas Speed AFM delete kit is arriving. Went with the stage two low lift camshaft. I bought Melling pushrods today because for some reason the kit doesn't come with them.
I won't end up using them if everything goes right, but I'll have a complete valvetrain to drop in the new engine once I'm ready. My HPTuners cable showed up yesterday. There is so much involved in tuning- I see why people just buy tuners off the shelf now.
I would be doing the work myself if I had more time. My girlfriend and I are still cleaning up and moving into the new house, and I have to be down in SoCal on a hard set date. And for tuning, I've so far figured out turn off the codes for the cats- so there's that at least. Won't have that CEL anymore, and they're being cut out at the same time as the engine is being replaced.nice, wish I knew how to do more in depth engine work could sure save myself some money with some upgrades
Mine does too. I have all new front suspension. I liked those poly bushings for my s10 but I think they wore out fairly quick. You need to lube poly when its on a rotational joint I think. I always just used wheel bearing grease.Installed new sway bar bushings and end links today.
The suspension still squeaks...
I’ve bought synthetic poly grease and never had a squeak. Lube the sway bar hold downs inside and small amount on end links and perfect. Also for poly suspension bushings this is key to no squeak.Mine does too. I have all new front suspension. I liked those poly bushings for my s10 but I think they wore out fairly quick. You need to lube poly when its on a rotational joint I think. I always just used wheel bearing grease.
Most of us have someone like BlackBear do a custom tune for us since canned tunes pretty much suck. I have an Autocal so any time I need a change I email them a datalog or instructions and they email my tune back to me. Lifetime tuning service FTW.My HPTuners cable showed up yesterday. There is so much involved in tuning- I see why people just buy tuners off the shelf now.
Just YouTube or search the inter webs on that shit, that’s how I learned.nice, wish I knew how to do more in depth engine work could sure save myself some money with some upgrades
