Whatever happened to it?

We raced it for about 3 years.... I was the crew chief.... in the performance-stock class. ( When I lived in N. California early '80's)....
Then used as a pleasure boat.... I later moved to S. California.... Don't know where it went after that.
I had to be careful turning in intersections.... The truck would turn left..... Boat wanted to keep going straight... trying to push rear axles a bit. A fun rig to haul !!

Have seen a couple Rams and F series.

See previous posted Ford. Chatted to a couple guys. Brazilian made. Ford imported for 5 years only, already set up for right hand drive.

Diesel is king in the Outback and the bigger the roo bar the better. Most trays/beds are removed and these badass storage boxes are added.

https://www.arrowtoolquip.com.au/

Every former pick up truck has these and they are snorkeled out the front. All have roo bars and big ass LEDs in round and light bars bars in front.

Most are set up with big UHF antennas as cellular coverage is sparse and repeaters are generally set up every 50km for comms between vehicles or remote working stations.

WiFi lol is sparse so days go by without coverage. Not really a complaint here. Lol

Lots of Ford Rangers already, Land Crusiers, Nissan Patrol, Holden/Chevy Colorado.

They all have sunshade/awnings attached to the roof rack over the driver’s side.

The camping setups are amazing from the motorcycles to the small road king mom and pop setups to the larger ball and hitch set ups. Even saw a 5th wheel small truck set up.

Max speed is 110km/hr. Speed cameras and red light cameras are everywhere so you just don’t speed. No one does. Enforcement is heavy and fines are steep. This isn’t I95 even when in he middle of nowhere.

Diesel Prices climbed from $1.55/litre in the city to
$2.30/litre in the Outback and I heard a couple of old boys talking of $3/litre on the Nullabor across to Perth.

Is this a vacation? I have family in Adelaide. Always wanted to go.

Looks a little cramped--except if you're a midget lol.

Are you in the land down under, where women glow and men plunder? Did you eat a vegemite sandwich? They sell GMT900 snorkels down there, just sayin'! LOL
