Well thanks to @05Single I cleaned my engine compartment up today. Yesterday I washed it and cleaned the interior.

They make covers for the end of the hose that incorporate a clamp and finishes the bling factor. Or you can use shrink wrap like I did on a couple. BTW Whipple makes a much nicer engine cover, just sayin. Here’s mine.
[emoji23] whipple “engine cover”... that’s perfect! Hey babe, need to order this replacement part. Can’t be driving around with a busted engine cover..

Very similar to my “needed” ARH headers I’m saving for.. I have an exhaust leak. That’s unsafe. Can’t go with the substandard OEM manifolds..

Don't know about other States but here in Ohio you better check that spare once a year. Not for how the tire looks but how the lowering stuff is working! My '06 Silverado was wasted and would not lower the spare!
I found that out after I ripped the side wall out of a tire on a job site. Had to have the whole system replaced.

one of the first things i do with a vehicle is pull the spare, inspect it, and lubricate the mechanism that allows it to be accessed. On these trucks just applying a generous amount of grease on the cable can help quite a bit. my 94's spare winch still works great.

Anyone know where to get the retaining ring that holds the part that's in the bumper from? (The spare tire release mechanism.... where you stick the rod in....)

This piece.... I knew I had a picture of it

Brother in law got a new Silverado Z71 Texas Edition so he sold me the 20" wheels and tires for a good price. Put them on Saturday. It drives differently. Seems smoother at highway speeds, but slower on acceleration. Must be more rotational mass to get moving.

Still have an oil leak...I'm out of ideas. Only thing left is the rear main. It seems to be coming from up high. Starter gets oil on it, then it runs down to the filter and drain plug and then blows backward. I've done oil pressure sending unit, crank position sensor, oil pan, valley cover, valve cover gaskets.

Also, my driveline clunk is back. :( I think what is happening is that the oil leak is significant enough to blow back into the slip yoke and deteriorate the grease. While I'm still trying to resolve the oil leak, I'll re-grease the slip yoke with some Lucas Red & Tacky. If the clunk goes away for a while, I'll know the reason. Since I'm 2WD, I don't think there is an updated yoke for me.

I love those wheels....... But they are Chevrolet..... Would I be breaking the rules if I get a set for my Yukon?

No rules... your truck! if you like it, go for it! My uncle's 1989 GMC Sierra long bed extended cab came from the factory with a Chevrolet emblem on the steering wheel's horn button. I asked him about it and he said he guesses it was a mistake from the factory that QC didn't catch... he thought it was cool so he left it that way.

My dad had an '88 Sierra long bed short cab that looked almost identical to it and the horn button on it was correct with the GMC logo.

I had no idea there were gloves included in the spare tire kit?

Me neither... but then again, I seem to have the crap luck of buying used vehicles that have had the jack and spare accessories removed.

The 'Hoe came with the spare but no tools or jack. My Chrysler came with no spare, tools, or jack. My Ram came with all of it. One of the vehicles we had included a jack that was so rusted I had to soak it in oil just to get it to work again.

PO's are weird creatures.

anyone ever tried the IJDMTOY LED fog light kit? I just ordered it and was curious what everyone else's experience is with them?
