Center console question

It's all in what you want/expect out of it. I have a center console from a Tahoe that had rear audio, I don't give two ***** that it doesn't work.

Me too, I don't sit in the back seat. Why spend money on a cubby that you wont even see?

Just hook up the 12v outlets, that's all!

So I ordered a used console got the trim pieces, rear cubby, drink holder, but when I go to install the black box on the floor prevents the console from moving forward far enough (about one inch)!! Has anyone else had this problem or know of a fix other than cutting out a notch in the bottom of the console so it fits?

The one in my Sierra came with it. The one for my Tahoe I bought off eBay.

That is the roll-over sensor. It'll tell you when you're on your roof.

I had to trim some of the bottom plastic away from the base of our console so it would fit around the sensor properly. It depends on the vintage of the console, though.

Also, feel around under the mat near that sensor. You may find a harness. IIRC, there have been others on this list noting they found a harness that just plugged into their replacement console that at least let them get power to the in-console USB socket. Worth a try, but I wouldn't expect much.

The old hoe didn’t have one, so I made one. I made the U in utility rather large.

The new hoe still had the radio console. I do need to make a faceplate for it.

First order of bidness was to clean it.

I just ran into this. Installed a center console from an 07-13 Suburban into my 07-14 Tahoe. Just used a sawzall and cut a notch in the black ABS base. Fits perfect.

From what research it was more common on baseline Silverado, on mine I bought a Abs plastic sheet and cut it to fit then used small square of plastic on the sides to hold it.

Both. I bought a junk yard console and there is nothing in that spot. Don't need the rear controls. So looking for the cubby instead.

I bought some ABS 1/4” sheet and acetone welded it together to form a box. You couldn’t tell it wasn’t factory. I don’t have pics because I’ve since sold that Tahoe

It was probably $10 total and you can buy everything at any hardware store.
