Hood hinge question

one of my hood hinges locked up, it looks like at one point it time someone pished too far and crossed the arms.

I removed it but the spring is a %^*^%#^.

Anyone got a method to get it back on?

I think I'd hit the bone yard and get another one. You might even find one the same color.
