Found a decent deal on a 2014 Denali with 65k miles. I have a 2011 yukon SLT now. Are there any issues I need to be looking for? (I know the dash is cracked....).

Also couple questions about that model year:

Is it all time AWD? I don’t see a 4x4 selector knob.
Does this year Denali have magnetic rear shocks or is it air ride?
Any known issues with the infotainment center or DVD player?
Anybody buy an extended warranty on a Denali after the 36k warranty ended? If so, cost?

Any tips/advice on this is greatly appreciated.

Denalis have the 6.2l and are AWD (although I think they made some just RWD only). Fuel mileage isn't quite as good as a result.

The Nav/radio is hard drive based instead of DVD based like your 2011. I think it has like a 30gb hard drive, which you can save music to.

Extended warranties will vary in price because they are usually 3rd party companies and can be gotten with various coverages. When I bought my 2011 in March I purchased a 3yr/36k powertrain warranty and it cost $2500. That's the cost to consumer, not what the company charges because the dealer gets a cut

I just bought (and am awaiting delivery tomorrow) a 14 Escalade ESV with the 6.2 and only 31k miles.

Pretty sure you’d also be eligible to purchase the GMEPP warranty, which is the official Gm extended warranty.

I’m seeing quotes in the $3500 range to get me an additional 3 yr/60k miles, with $100 deductible. Official GM ext warranty.

I’m waiting on a second price quote tomorrow and will pull the trigger once I see who is cheaper:)

GMEPP means less expensive is not better. Less expensive 3rd party Service Contracts can and will repair with subpar Chinese parts and only approve non dealer rental cars when the job is almost done. Only if you know how to handle a contract administrator should you get a service contract. 60k mileage allows family road trips and any GM/Caddie dealer will roll out the carpet for you nationwide.

I ended up getting a 3 year, 60k additional mileage GMEPP warranty for $2650 :)

That’ll take us to 91k miles.

Bought our 2012 XL Denali with 45k miles at a Carmax. Added a 5 year 100k mile warranty for $2100. Not too shabby id say?
