2013 Tahoe SSV "running boards"

Hello,

I am thinking of putting "running boards" on my Tahoe, too many friends complaining about it being a "hight step" to get in.

Does anyone know the part numbers for those?

I don't know the part numbers, but the courteous thing to do for your friends would be to lower it about 4".

I see OEM running boards for sale all the time from people that have removed them for aftermarket ones or after lowering. Would be WAY cheaper than buying OEM ones new.

*lol*... no can do (I think it has actually been lifted, factory, a bit... it is kinda high on it's paws, and has "off road tires", skid plates etc.) I like taking it "out" planning on taking it into the desert this weekend (Winslow, Holbrook AZ area).

Anywho, I saw some of these running boards, and they seem to be at the same hight as the frame which is fine with me.

Where did you see those? eBay or so?

I've seen OEM boards for sale on this forum and a few times on my local craigslist. More often on trucks being parted out. The clean ones with the end trims and all usually go for around $200 which is cheaper than quality aftermarket ones and they fit and look much better.

Well I have the factory ones on my 13 SSV so I had the parts guy run the numbers for mine. Here is the list of numbers for you. Hope it helps:

Step 15914674
Step 15914675
Mounting Bracket (4) 22956467
Step Extension 15291807

Bolt 11519742 (4)
Bolt 11609733 (12)
Bolt 11609997 (10)
Nut 15231167 (4)

The parts all have to be ordered separately as they no longer offer the packaged Kit.

I'll look for that, any pointers are welcome. I did see some Tahoes with running boards nicely tucked underneath the body, at frame hight, not really sticking out.

pointers? ebay, or junk yard or lkq, unless you want them to be NEW then gmpartdirect, etc and sometimes there are new ones on ebay also.
as far as bolts, maybe buy one then match the rest up at a (real) hardware store no sense in paying $7 a bolt from gm

Yes I work at the dealership and I buy all my SSV stuff off Ebay or LKQ. The dealership cost for everything is $1692.12. Even if I got it for you with the really good discount the cost would still be $1269.07 so I know I have seen used pairs on Ebay MUCH cheaper and they come with all the brackets and hardware usually.

I do not know if you can adapt the newer 2015-2018 ones but here is one heck of a deal if they can be made to fit:

Hahaha.. I can always use more, good, friends... I'm originally from Europe and somewhat taller.

I think it is funny to see someone,shorter, climb in my hoe. (especially a woman in a skirt makes me grin/laugh... yeah I am a sexist *lol*)

Not sure what part the extension is but those are the exact same part number for the boards that I have on my Tahoe.

btw: did you install the running bords on your Tahoe yourself? I wonder how easy/difficult that is doing that in a driveway. (or where to find instructions)

There is no drilling or modifying to install the factory running boards. From what I was told at work all the holes are already in the frame and with the factory brackets everything just bolts right up. Mine were on the truck when I bought it. Sorry.

OEM boards fit the best and, in my opinion, look the best. There are OEM power running boards that extend down and out when the doors are opened. They retract when the doors are closed and look like regular rocker panels. Maybe that's what you saw?'

Not many aftermarket ones look so good. They look very much "added on as an afterthought".

It was probably 2 years ago, but, yes, they were in the classifieds on this forum. Shipping isn't worth it, but you never know who is in your area or at least close enough to be worth a day trip. That's why I mentioned craigslist or facebook market. I had my dad in Florida scoop up some rare parts for me from a guy on a car forum and I got them from him when I went to visit for Thanksgiving. Put a little thought into it and you'd be surprised at what you can acquire.
