Yes that is what the box looks like. That corner to the left of the picture is what is under the crossmember closest to the firewall.

I don't know about Foss (though I doubt it), I was talking about Pete though (@Sevenevez ). He posts on instagram a lot.

Lol. Easy to get wires Crossed. You are Correct, I do not post on IG and I know Pete has his Riviera build and posts on IG a lot. He does some amazing stuff. No worries man.

Making time for some small projects.

Starting with a fresh coat of paint on the Esky rack end caps.

The end caps have been peeling at the ends as a result of removing them over the years to clean under the rack and polish everyone’s favorite part - the roof.

Soap and water before and after sanding. I feathered the peeling edges with 220 and scuffed up the rest of the caps with an ultra fine sanding sponge I had.

Anyone recognize that orange paint from a previous member? One of my first mods purchased on the forum.

I ordered a spray can of paint and clear coat from automotivetouchup.com

Here are the caps sanded and ready to be primed, top coated and cleared.

The paint has been polished and waxed and the windows were polished and Rain X’d.

I still have to do the roof, but that will be a bit easier with the roof rack already off. Plus the dirt stuck under the rack is always worth cleaning off.

I decided to give the Trinova Gold Standard a go since I had not used it yet.

I found it went on pretty easy with an applicator sponge, let it sit for 20-30 minutes, then it buffed out pretty easily with a clean microfiber.

The paint is very slippery and the rain beaded up nicely. Time will tell how well it holds up in the tropical sun, salt and rain. The paint looks wet though.

The Esky caps have been top coated and cleared.

Going to have to wet sand and polish out for the high gloss finish. They look good in the photo, but not good enough.

When I pulled the roof rack off I noticed a few chips I had not seen before. Small paint chips and tiny bubbles in the the lower part of one of the roof fins all in a row.

So I did a small tape job and sanded it back, then hit it with the Duplicolor touch up brush to see what it looked like.

It could pass as no one will ever see it, but the paint pen is a bit darker than the current roof paint.

I may sand it back down and give it a quick prime, paint and clear coat once I can see it in the daylight. Just to make it better as this was just an ok fix. That way I can get to detailing the roof and put the Esky rack back on.

I dropped my spare tire today as it is the OEM 16”. I went through this a while ago whether to keep it or take it off. So it’s off for now. I lubed the hoist and lock mechanism and raised the cable back up.

I cleaned up the red Spohn adjustable panhard bar and Belltech shocks.

Overall it doesn’t look too bad under there. It is not as smooth and nice as the Suburban, but not too bad for 12 years old and living near the ocean. Thankfully is it is not completely covered in hard core rust.

With the tire off, I may do a bit of clean up and get some black paint under there just so it looks better. And I need to grease the suspension zerk fittings as well.
