Same system as Ben's truck. He was sure he has the center speaker too. I have the RPOs from another '09 that is the same as the both of yours. Mine is very similar, only difference is mine does not have rear DVD players. Better check mine out now too! Either I'm not reading them right or the shop manuals do not show this configuration. No biggie though.

Haha, I physically touched my center speaker today to be sure, and it's there. I wonder what is different from my system to the Denali that has the RPO Y91. I love technical details and this one stumps me, lol

Pretty sure Y91 includes the smart amp. If you had a Tech2, you could query the amp, it is its own module. I know for sure mine has the dumb amp, it cannot be talked to by the Tech2 and I've seen it, it's about half the size of the other one. It's was raining today and these old bones didn't want to go outside and check.

No center speaker on mine, not even the grill. Dash Mat went on right after purchase and forgot what was under there! Maybe you fellas do have the larger amp.
Someday take a picture of it when you're cleaning out the french fries and crayons and post it up for us!

I will get in there soon to see what amp it is. I would really like to know why I have 10 speakers, just like my buddy's 09 denali, but my RPO tag does not have Y91 on it, haha.

UPDATE: After a few days of having the CORRECT nose speaker in the door, I haven’t had any sound issues. No rising volume, no popping, nothing. As of yet anyway. I’m really hoping that this is the answer. All of these issues did start around the time that speaker blew out and I threw a regular GM speaker in there (Not knowing they were different)

Sooooo on the way to work today the radio jumped in volume, two different time. But I noticed something. They both happened when I got on the throttle hard to pass someone. Idk if this is a coincidence or not Bc I tried to replicate it and nothing. Could I have a bad ground somewhere and it’s picking up engine noise or something?

Strange... if it were losing power intermittently I would say yes BUT volume change seems HU related to me.
Did you ever check connections or swap back to the original to see what happens?

That kind of goes with a bad volume control in the HU like I mentioned earlier. I say it's still possible so next thing would be to eliminate that possibility by swapping it out for the stock one.

Don't remember what that's called but my '06 Montana and my truck both have this feature. Check your owner's manual. It raises the volume as you drive faster.

Yea its like road noise control or something. I've seen it before. Maybe adaptive volume or similar.

From my 2006 Owner's Manual:
AUTOn(Automatic Volume): With automatic
volume, the audio system will adjust automatically to
make up for road and wind noise as you drive, by
increasing the volume as vehicle speed increases.
Set the volume at the desired level. Press this button to
select AUTO VOLUME MIN, AUTO VOLUME MED,
or AUTO VOLUME MAX. Each higher setting will
provide more volume compensation at faster vehicle
speeds. To turn automatic volume off, press this button
until AUTO VOLUME OFF appears on the display.
From my 2009 Owner's Manual:
Speed Compensated Volume (SCV): Radios with
Speed Compensated Volume (SCV) automatically
adjusts the radio volume to compensate for road and
wind noise as the vehicle speeds up or slows down.
The volume level should be consistent while driving.
To activate SCV:
1. Set the radio volume to the desired level.
2. Press the MENU button to display the radio
setup menu.
3. Press the pushbutton under the AUTO VOLUM
(automatic volume) label on the radio displays.
4. Press the pushbutton under the desired Speed
Compensated Volume setting (OFF, Low, Med,
or High) to select the level of radio volume
compensation. The display times out after
approximately 10 seconds. Each higher setting
increases the audio volume to compensate for faster
vehicle speeds.

They should have CCV, child compensated volume so as the children's noise level increases, the volume automatically goes up since that's usually what causes the music to be drowned out, not how fast you're driving. Not that I have to worry about that, mine needs BCV, boost compensated volume. Not necessarily how fast you're going but how much the slanty pedal is pushed down causing an increase in boost and the resulting RPM's.
