No doubting that the duramax is likely the better made engine due to that but diesel is still more $$$ to fill, maintain etc.

Bro what? The 6.6 Duramax v8 is built at DMAX in Moraine, Ohio, on a lot right next to the Detroit Diesel factory.

Hmm your right, my bad for listening blindly to something that was probably said by a Cummins owner along the line... is it Powerstroke that is made in china?

Fords 6.7 is built in Mexico, apparently not China.
Yes, Chihuahua. The earlier Ford diesels (7.3, 6.0, 6.4) where built in Indianapolis IIRC.
DMAX is a joint venture between Isuzu and GM. Isuzu is a Japanese company so I have no idea why some cummins guy would be spouting off about it being a Chinese engine. They have a couple joint ventures in China but they are in a lot more countries than just China. They have a ton of plants in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
