I might try the 3.5mm jack to the xm radio first before buying a new head unit. I want to do my suspension before anything else

I did the same. Hid the jack in the back of a cubby and got a little 3.5mm Bluetooth adapter that plugs in back there. You'd never know it's there and works great.

Link? And howd you wire the 3.5mm jack I see there's 3 prongs to it. I'm currently looking for the walkthrough but if my memory serves me right it only shows 2 connections

Here's the jack i used. It is "switching" so there is no bleed from the XM. The only trick is if I want the xm, i need to unplug.

I got some ground loop noise, so I added this splitter. Fixed.

That is quite the idea and project. This just came to you while you were sleeping?! lol doe it help that I also have a 3in body lift already installed as well. So any obstacles underneath the body are already 3inches out of the way!

Dude, you have no idea what thoughts run through my head while I'm sleeping (or trying to!).

I've been known to wake up (or at least 1/4 of the way) and start sketching out plans for a deck, or writing down ideas for a kitchen remodel. I'd say at least half the time, if I can't sleep, it's because I'm dreaming about trying to figure out a solution for a project that I'm not even actually doing!

The one i used disconnects the "through" signal (xm) when you plug in. Yours will tap into the xm line, so you will need to tune to channel 0 for use. On the up side, you won't need to unplug like i do.

Oh i can do this and keep my xm?would be nice to have bluetooth... I always assumed this would remove xm functionality.

take 2 on the tear sewing is much better. looks like this is one of them things you dont do well right out the box.

i left the first set of stitches in there, seemed to help. new stitches went in tight and stayed tight.

step back a bit and you hardly see it.

Yes you can. Just not at the same time.

I still done understand the plug in part and the thru part haha

You're sharing the line to the HU between xm x and aux. The switching jack only lets the HU see one at time. With yours, the Huh would see both all the time, so channel 0 is blank if you're using the aux.

Do you have a picture of yours installed?

i had them glasses yesterday too. made one stitch with out em and had to go back in to get em, getting old blows.

i think it was just the tear pulling back on me i guess. damn stitches just kept opening up, this time you gave em a tug and they stayed put. i used a doubled thread this time. last time was single thread. might have helped too.

Try this.

This is the xm module behind the glove box.
The green/white and brown/white are L and R (forget which is which) to the HU. All you're doing is interrupting or tapping into them to insert your jack. The black/white in the corner of the harness is the ground.
