They are calling for one hell of a snowstorm here on christmas day and the girlfriend wants me to make sure she can get to work. I have 4wd but probably wont need it having meaty all terrains on the back. Im just curious how well these things do on snow and ice? I assume good with that 6800lbs holding it down on the tires.

If she's driving to work in the snow, on CHRISTMAS, she should be more concerned on finding a new job.

These trucks are like a tank in the snow, few years back when we got all that snow most the storms were a foot or more and had to get to work cause we plow all the properties they own most the time I left the roads or driveway wasn't done and had zero problems I thought I was stuck in the driveway once but threw it in low and I got out like nothing

You mean your Dodge? The sticker in the door jam is the gross weight rating not the curb weight. The curb weight is around 5500.

My 2wd 4 door is 5500 according to the sticker. 4x4 should be a lil bit heavier ...

Gvwr is gross vehicle Wright rating, the Max weight of the truck and all the cargo it can handle.

It should be ok in deep snow but without dedicated snow tires be careful. 4WD does nothing to help you stop.

My Yukon is the best vehicle I have ever driven in the snow. I use 4x4 (or Auto) if there is even a hint of slippery conditions though. Some guys are afraid to use 4x4, I am not in that group...

I know all about the stopping. I use the gears to slow down. I learned my lesson going off and icy hill sideways and almost rolling into a ditch in my old rodeo. luckily i didnt care cause it was a beater that i traded a bbq grill for

You should have no problem, especially being 4wd and good tires.
Being 2wd, I have had no issues, having a LSD good tires and and a little extra weight and never got stuck. I actually slid off the road once and was able to get out without a tow.

I hate starting winter on nearly bald tires, last time I did that I had to buy a new rim because I hit a curb. Just remember to go slow (reasonably, not 10mph in a 60 zone) and 4wd will not help you stop. Light on the throttle, no sudden movements, and you'll get around fine. Follow these rules and you will never get stuck, at least I haven't.

There was that time I had to break out the shovel and chain up the tires, but that was on 4 feet of snow and miles off-road...

That Hoe will do great getting you through anything the weather throws at you. Pushed snow over my grille before. Biggest concern is going into turns too fast. All that weight will try to keep going straight no how you you turn the wheel. If you do go into a turn keep on the power ever so lightly and stay off the brakes. ABS works breat but dosen't help get you out of a jam on a snow laden turn. Good luck
