Wondering about rear door

So i had to replace the lift arms for my back window and that got me to thinking. Is it at all possible to change the rear hatch door to the 2 barn door set up? And if it is how difficult is it to do?

Your rear sill and inner quarters are different I believe. Been a while since Ive worked on one, but the hinges and latch are a problem to add. I know the quarters are different for ones with a liftgate vs / one with barn doors.

I always wanted to do this, too. I remember looking into it when I had an OBS Yukon and the simple conclusion was "no, you can't do it".

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who might have actually done this, as I'd like to try it on my NBS Tahoe.
