im not overly familiar with transmissions but ill start the posts.
first thing for someone with my poor transmissions knowledge. i believe your truck still has a mechanical throttle body so you should have 2 cables coming from your tb. if your kickdown cable is too tight it could keep it kicked down. it should still shift if you get the rpms high enough but id be leery myself winding it out after a big job like that.

I would recommend a full scan for stored codes, save or print them. Next clear all codes. Restart truck, try short trip in neighborhood, scan and review new codes. You will only learn tech2 by using it and finding where in menus components reside.
You may be locked in a limp mode because of a code.

I have the shop manual and troubleshooting guide for the 4L60 for the GMT900s, I think it's too big to email at 22 megabytes. You can sign up for the shop manual for your truck at AllDataDIY and it will tell you how to use the Tech-2 to trouble shoot it. There will also be some things you will have to visually check, like the shift cable and linkage.

Other things to check are the 2-3 shift solenoid valve and the sun shell.
