Why are the regional forums so dead?

Anyone here from Central PA?

Has anyone ever orchestrated a meetup? Would there be any interest?

good question, didn't even know there was a regional forum till you mentioned it but after looking at it seems to me it's a little to broken up, but at the same time california should be split nor cal/so cal it's just to long of a state. it might also help if it was moved to the main forum link rather than a little "sideline" 99% of the time I just hit up "today's post" so if there is no activity in a region it's not going to show up anyway. California is 800 miles long needs to be split north/south, in California we generally already do this when people ask where you are from.

im in the poconos area but in usually pretty busy with work and the home stuff. if something was going on when i actually had free time id be interested. most small meets die out when they dont get enough exposure and larger meets get shut down because people want to show off.

Looking for someone localish that I could build some mechanical skill with. I was never taught by my father growing up and am not very handy.

I sometimes can get things done with the help of YouTube but honestly am very daunted by the complexity of some things.

Willing to travel / compensate accordingly. Don't want to just pay a shop to do it because I want to learn.

There's far too many states in each regional forum to be worth a damn. There should be individual state forums.

I'm in NH and don't care what someone is doing 6 hours away in northern Maine, let alone in Pennsylvania; that might as well be a rusted-out version of France.

I kind of agree with you. They need to be more state specific. Break it down to each singular state at least. Hey @drakon543 I used to live in the Poconos--E Burg and Bushkill then Milford. Pike county was my worse nightmare tho.

Can someone actually answer why NH has such a ridiculous tint law? I just moved from Wisconsin to NH and they had to rip all my tint off…

MA passed similar measures. My son did a DIY tint job on his truck. That lasted until inspection. Had to come off... He doesn't feel like doing removal and reinstall every year for RMV inspection. He also decided it would be worth a moving violation, if he got a ticket on the road either. He decided on his own to just go to the shop and get a legal tint put on and keep it that way.

MA is probably one of the strictest states for RMV inspections and some regulations seem to go just a bit overboard.

Neighboring states can have any lift you want, dark tints, loud exhausts, etc. They can drive on our roads all they want, but we would get taken off the road if we owned the same vehicle. The vehicle from the other state is fine, but mine could kill someone? MA RMV regulations don't always make total sense.

I believe the MA tint requirements were passed with officer safety in mind. Limiting the tints allows officer to see what occupants are doing. Windows behind the front doors can be darker, but still not so dark you can't see inside at all. I know really dark tint does not make a person bad. But, as a former part-time officer... I do know red flags on the possibility of someone being up to no good were raised when rolling up on stopped vehicle with completely blacked out windows. Definitely a lot more sketchy situations to deal with.

FL can go pretty dark. I don't blame them one bit. The sun is ridiculously HOT down there! But, I still believe that even they have some kind of limits established.

Even though I am not a gangbanger or drug dealer, there are times I would personally love the look of a fairly dark tint on my front door windows. Would look really cool on my white Tahoe! But I am not wealthy and can't afford to constantly re-tint or pay for tickets and higher insurance rates. MA is high enough on insurance as it is! I will get tints at some point, but only what will legally pass RMV inspection.
