I found my 6.2 L94 gives a little better power and slightly (and i mean slightly) better gas mileage on 93 than 89. Can't comment on the 5.3's but the 6.2's are recommended for 91 -- which in Georgia at least means 93. Here reg is 87, mid is 89 and prem is 93. Why buck the manufacturer's recommendation? The ECM can prevent knocks but it's gonna de-tune you to get there.

87 in the 5.3 nbs tahoe and 91 in the 6.2 nnbs, except for when im not paying attention and hit the 87 in the nnbs and get pissed real quick lol

I run 93 in my 6.2. It's got 173K on it and runs perfectly.

87 in my '13 hoe with cai, no tune and it runs perfectly. Even if i wanted to put mid or super, prices are crazy here in NY.....just me complaining again

I did hear or read e85 gives u worse mileage, dont know never tried it,never will......

Yep, e85 doesn't do as well on mpg. The prices for e85 around here don't warrant the drop in mpg.

Although i will say, 3-4x a year i fill it up with super (93) on the off chance it will help 'clean' the rails, injectors and fuel related crap like that. I know its a long shot but it cant hurt it, its not getting used to it by using it all the time and it makes me feel like im doing something good for the old 'hoe.
