Wheel Well Liner Loose

'22 Yukon XL - 3.0 - 33 months old - 84K miles - Stock wheels and tire size
I recently started the hear a rubbing sound when backing into my driveway, which involves turning the wheel almost fully to one side. I have figured out that it is tire rubbing on the wheel well liner. The liner material seem soft / compliant in on the back side of the wheel well as compared to the stiffer / more rigid front side. Anyone have any experience with this or insight? I can't image that it is causing any damage, other than wear to the liner, but doesn't seem right. It is happening on both front wheel wells.

Stock tire size, but not OEM. I once had a similar issue with rubbing after adding a new set of Michelins. I ended up using zip ties to pull the liner away from the contact area.

I have over 30k miles on these tires and this just started. Also doesn't explain when the liner is different in the front and back of the wheel.

You can drill a couple of holes through the liner and into the plastic backing, and then use some OEM push pins to move the liner up against the backing. That's what I did on my truck.

Did you worry about hitting anything behind the plastic? Do you by chance have a link to the push pins? Seems like a reasonable workaround if there is rigid plastic behind it.

The plastic pieces are better than 1/2" thick, in a lattice type grid, so careful drilling won't risk/hurt anything.

The best way to get GM style pushpins (other then getting r*ped at the dealer) if to go to a local auto parts store and look for them there in a clear plastic container on a rotating rack. You can pull one of the existing push pins out of you liner first, to match them up at the store. Then, once purchased, determine a correct drill bit size to allow you to push them in without a lot of effort, but tight enough for them to stay in.

There is no plastic structure behind the area that is pulling loose. May have to break down and have a shop take a look.

The liners on the '21s+ are not the same as on the '07s+.
