What's the minimum wheel size paired with the 2020 Silverado rotor upgrade?

So I'm upgrading the brakes on my 2002 Tahoe to hydro boost and the larger 2020 Silverado rotors and calipers. Does anyone have a sense for the smallest wheel size that will fit this setup? I realize offset will be a factor.. I'm currently running 20x12 wheels with a -44 offset, but I want to downsize the wheels. Hoping I can go with 17x9, maybe even 16x9.. Any thoughts?

Pretty sure 16 will not clear at all.
17 probably smallest, but that might still require slight modification to calipers (possibly grinding some material off in places).

I have not done that conversion, but I do know 16 did not allow hardly any extra room between the wheel and the stock calipers I have.

Someone who has done the conversion can answer just how small a rim you could get away with...
17 or 18 would be my guess.
