Not sure if it differs from state to state but in some states if you put "Gift" they will charge tax on the market/"Blue Book" value of the vehicle. Just something to check in to.

either way they will ask "what is the estimated value" at the counter, just say $500 when they ask and that is what they will use to calculate the tax.

Do you have any pics of the attachment points? I’m assuming this replaces the factory recovery hooks.
I’m trying to see if it’s solid enough, or has provisions to attach a tow strap.

I was able to reattach the recovery hooks alongside the bracket for the pushbar. One thing you cannot use without hacking it to bits is the plastic surround the hooks. No room for em. Would like to take photos of it but it’s currently covered in snow, ice slush salt. I’ll snap a pic of the bar when I get home here in a bit.

This past weekend was the 1st time I pulled anything larger than a 12x12 enclosed trailer with this truck.

I pulled a car trailer from SE DC with my sons 97 Lesabre on it to Easton PA.

The car was willed to him by his late grandfather and had been sitting since the end of ‘18 untouched in a climate controlled garage that belonged to the housing complex he lived in. Was dirty, battery was dead, tires almost flat. Aired up the tires, put a new battery in it, bumped the starter a few dozen times to get oil up in the motor and it fired up. The gas is crappy but with some berry mans in the tank and it idling for an hour it seems to be running fine now.

Trans temps stayed under 150, list about 3-4 mags towing but was amazed how well it did.

I was able to reattach the recovery hooks alongside the bracket for the pushbar. One thing you cannot use without hacking it to bits is the plastic surround the hooks. No room for em. Would like to take photos of it but it’s currently covered in snow, ice slush salt. I’ll snap a pic of the bar when I get home here in a bit.

Another one said they were quitting last night....blows my mind that we can't keep people. If peopt would stick it out, the schedule is gravy once it gets back to normal. 36hr week, 48hr week, rinse and repeat.

I got my headlight bulb in and swapped that out. Definitely different than stock headlights, but still not bad.

I work an office sales counter job right now but I am always chomping at the bit to get back to operating equipment/heavy equipment. I can run a forklift like a freak. Drove my first one when I was 15.

One of my favorite jobs was a forklift operator.
I saw one for sale a while back, and i seriously thought about grabbing it.
I could use it to help the wife with groceries, organizing the garage, pulling an engine, etc.


back in my hay day, i could totally pick up a loop laying on the ground.

Haha I'm sure only a few could, plus it would be stuck in the grease on the floor so probably wouldn't work. Definitely not a "clean" environment. I love driving, but it's not as fun after being in it 12hrs


And very true Jacob. Will it ever get fully staffed? No, but it will be close eventually. It's a revolving door with people transferring jobs and departments, so always a few openings. Probably another 6 months and it should be close to normal imo

I hope so, man, for your sake. I know what it's like to work those long hours for an extended period of time (was pretty much all of 2020 for me) and it's no fun and super easy to get burned out. Hopefully, things get back to normal for you soon.

Here is a head on front shot of the pushbar, really like the way it set the front of the truck off and the extra lighting, well it speaks volumes when I’m on 22 or 78 at 3AM and no one is approaching or in front of me.

I cut me teeth on a tiny little 2000lb forklift when I started at American Airlines Cargo 35 ish years ago. Damn I’m old.... Drove one that’s the size of a 20’ box truck there to load cookie sheet pallets into a freighter plane. Had a lot of fun and got a lot of experience there.

My job now puts me on a standup 18,000lb forklift 4-6 hours a day. I’m also the trainer for the office to.

I bought an OEM one for my Silvy, how’s that one compare? Good quality?

very much so and zero issues on fit or install. I found out I need a rear one as well but cannibalized one I removed and cut a piece off that wasn’t damaged and replaced.

next up for me is replacing all the ******** gm clips, retainers etc that have busted or crapped out from multiple panel and trim removal. There only good a few times imo before a few break or rattle too much for me. I’ve wrapped them with tesa tape in problem areas but still at the end of their lives with all the removal I’ve done over the years.
