What's on the other side of that board. Those don't look like typical capacitors.

Yea, good point I thought nothing, but looking closer, it looks like each has a couple white plastic squares that are in a hole on the board.. I believe those squares would be facing forwards/upwards.. Compass?

I can't find any info on the numbers, but feel pretty condident it's the compass.
It looks like many current compass circuits also have 5 wire connections.

Update on my lights, the TYC headlamps suck on beam spread! I think the bulb shroud limits the spread..
Not sure why they did that, I don't see it in any other headlight light housing?
I am considering Depo brand housings..? They have crystal lens and projector versions as well..
The Yitamotor foglights are invisible unless you see the reflection in a bumper or window pane..
Overall very disappointed in the lighting.. Will have to go LED bulbs in the future as well..

Had some guy just knock on my door and asked if if my Escalade was for sale

I get the same request about every 2 months.
I say’ “ Never”……. One guy offered $15,000. Uh,…. nope…..
I was selling my Crown Vic and a guy down my block messaged me and said nice car, but "I want to buy your Tahoe". I said nope. He kept asking to buy it, I kept saying no. To "sweeten" the deal he offered to throw in a Corolla with some cash lol. Definitely not!

I recently parted out a beater OBS in my backyard and also had a handful of guys check out my 99 Silverado and glance over and ask "is that truck for sale?" And I quickly said "NO."

The remainder of the guys were buying random parts and doing an "LS-swap" on their OBS...go figure...

That's cool! I took my Tahoe out a few weeks back for the first time in a long time and when I came back from dinner I noticed someone punched out the driver side lock. These GMT800's are getting to be cool again and unfortunately since day one when they rolled off the lots they have been easy to steal.

Do you have any kind of anti theft device? Years ago I installed some plates that go inside the doors. I think the product is called Jimmy Jamz--or something like that. Prevents any scumbags from pulling out the door lock to pull on the lock rod --exactly what they did to you.

I know what you're talking about. No, I don't have those installed. The first year after my Tahoe was made someone bent down the metal below the driver door handle to break in. I bent the metal back up after I purchased the Tahoe from the original owner that happened to. I have a steering wheel lock I use now.

Is it "The Club"?
Know what i learned about those? The steering wheel itself is a much thinner metal then The Club. I've seen videos where it took 30 seconds to cut through the steering wheel with a hacksaw blade. The club is still locked in 1 piece tho.

Maybe it was Jimmi' Jammer® ?

Been looking, but seems to be discontinued for the GMT800 SUV’s.

Search continues.

Serviced the trans on the escalade today. Pretty straight forward job. However the two torx bolts that hold the shifter cable bracket on were a pain like always. Fun fact, pan bolts are the right length and threads to swap in place of the torx bolts.

Installed a sonnax pinless 1-2 accumulator. This is a spot I have historically seen a lot of issues and the sonnax part seals better, and slightly firms the shift due to shorter piston travel.

I have a sonnax corvette servo i was going to install, but cannot for the life of me find the cover oring I bought. So I had to hold off on that install for now.

Installed a PPE pan and filter kit to get some more fluid capacity and get rid of my stock crusty 20 year old pan.

Ppe pan installs easy, on the escalade with the dual exhaust to the muffler there is JUST enough room to get the pan in and not drop the exhaust.

Bottom of the stock pan was pretty clean. Typical fuzz on the magnet. But the fluid was dark. Not burnt by any means, just end of its life. So now with the drain plug on the ppe pan I plan on doing another drain and fill after a few miles.

Cut my cabin filter hole.. need to make it 3/4" longer. If you stick a 1" ruler in the cover receptacle, you can slide it left and scribe the right edge, then slide it right and scribe the left edge. I started freehanding at first, so it's a little wavy. Straight razor blade does fine after scribing it 10-20 times... No need for power tools or melted plastic and dust.

Dirty on the lower corners. Other two I've seen looked worse. And I have this to spray in there... Though I'm not sure how I'll keep it from leaking inside now that I cut the hole..

$10 ebay cover, screw and filter. Cover fits well, and filter has the bending cuts.. Not sure if the filter fits the nbs or not yet..('07-'14 kit)
