Beautiful. How's the bug situation? Crazy there in the woods?
Ummmm... zero bugs here. Not in the city, not in the woods. I have been leaving my screen doors open at home so Kinjo can go in and out at will and I usually get a fly or two but nothing this summer. I think one fly came inside. In the Spring we get some mosquitoes in the woods but usually not enough to bother me. Summertime, usually nothing to speak of. It was 90 in the city today, 70-75 up there with real low humidity. Perfect.

Damn! I'm officially jealous! Bugs--one of the many reasons I like the cold. You guys have ticks? Certain areas here are pretty bad with deer ticks--which some have Lyme's disease.

No ticks either anywhere in Oregon. We do have rattlesnakes in the high desert side of the state but only a few harmless snakes West of the Cascade mountains where I live, I never see any. So nothing poisonous at all.

Never been down your way but my brother went there to help after a hurricane and he had some stories lol.

You're not missing anything. Yet again, I see why northerners are generally happier than southerners. 70s, low humidity and no bugs would euphoric for me. Not to mention that scenery!
