take 2 on the tear sewing is much better. looks like this is one of them things you dont do well right out the box.

i left the first set of stitches in there, seemed to help. new stitches went in tight and stayed tight.

step back a bit and you hardly see it.

to tonyrodz, the largest needle is full round in that kit of 4.
Looks alot better. Always gotta double the thread through the needle. You can barely see it. Good job. Gonna make a seamstress outta you yet!;)

Did all 4 brakes today. I also painted the calipers red. Needed a little contrast.

All done with my stereo upgrades now. Put in a Sony CarPlay unit and backup camera and replaced one of the 12v outlets with a USB 3 outlet for connecting my phone. all to go with the amp and sub i installed in the location in the back the earlier trucks used. Was able to download some files that keep the Sony from displaying the warning EVERY time it turns on - that was a huge plus. And got a home screen i liked too.

What does the tool look like? I had to break pieces off at a time to get the old one off.

Looks like this there’s a few different ones out there, sometimes you can pop the tabs off with your hands, or pliers, can’t really comment on how this tool works (done the other methods listed) some says it works others say it doesn’t, I’m hoping to never find out

Tell me more about those files and how you loaded them into the Sony. I hate that stupid warning.

None of these tools worked for me at all. Had to use pliers and manhandle it

I did a few things this week to the old girl:

Rebuilt Front End - ie all new upper & lower control arms, ball joints, inner & outer tie rods, etc...(still have to replace pitman & idler arms when I get time)
3" Lift Spindles up front
3" Lift Spacers and 2" Hub Centric Wheel Spacers in rear
3D Molded Wood Dash Kit
02 Escalade Knobs
08-14 shifter swap
Dash Cam

I just noticed that dash cam. Pretty stealthy.

Definitely like the shifter swap. Been wanting to do that myself.

Got the trans in. Drove it around a few back roads. Can't wait to start modding it

It's not a transmission install or motor swap but I was shopping RockAuto yesterday for our other car & decided to get a new replacement belt for the A/C on my truck. Put the RoadMax <3 in the cart for $4.32 when paranoia got the best of me & looked through the drive belts to have a spare. Wholesaler close out on the Continental 4060930 (145a alternator) $7.18, only 2 left, couldn't pass it up. Checked on it today - $23 belt!
