Took it in for an alignment, man am I glad I did. Guess all the offroading knocked the front end out of spec. :shrug:

I think its mainly the prep, you can get away with less if you wrap.

So the pump is in...

So I'm done, and she starts right up. I let it idle for a minute, and shut it down. Go inside to tell the boss I'm gonna test run to the filling station. Go back out.... Won't start. Won't start. I go through my checklist. All good. Won't start. I hear the pump, won't start. I'm thinking, it can't be THAT empty can it? I dump the 2 gallon mower can into it. Won't start.... What now? If I take it off the ramps, what if I have to get under there again!? I cross my fingers, throw it in N, and roll her down. Say a little prayer.... Fires right up! I guess I really did get it that empty, lol. Took a spin, peeked under at the gas station, all dry. Filled it halfway, just in case. Took the long way home. Ran great, and still dry underneath. Win.

So.... Before the topic got off track, I'm still on the fence about keeping the roof rack. Guess we'll see when it gets here.

As far as why paint instead of a "sticker", well honestly I don't have access to any of the tools I need to paint anymore. I still have friends in the industry and I can get a heck of a paint job for $1500, originally was going to go black base and a pearl tint coat, but the truck is 17 years old and I don't want to be worrying about dings in a truck that old. Not to mention if I ever find my unicorn HD hood then I have to get it matched. So all the downtime etc. I can wrap this in portions on my downtime and don't need to rush it, plus I'd be looking at about $450 in cost. The door jambs and such will be a challenge but I will get it done somehow

Dont want to be a downer but your dings are going to show right through a wrap. Every imperfection will be visible.

Another classic captain obvious post from rocket man, lol...no one with a car refinishing background or custom background does a recolor without some pdr or bodywork

Well it was you that said you don't want to be worrying about dings in a truck that old in the same breath you said you were doing a wrap. So yeah. It needed to be said. And where did you mention you had a car refinishing background or custom background? I must have missed that captain obvious post. Looking back, I guess I threw this whole thing out of whack by posting what I did to my Gmt800 yesterday... Silly me.
