Ok guys woke up this morning and battery DEAD! Of course on my 2 year old twin daughters cardiology appt day. So go get a battery and of course leaving and notice surging and rpm bouncing at idle. Guess what says the alternator regulator is bad. So I go in and the 145 amp new alt is cheaper by 10 bucks than the standard. So I'm just checking that this is just a replace and it works thing? No upgrading for the alt to work.

Ps I'm looking at putting a 2k inverter in for future camping and long trips

Just check the plug to see if it's the same. Should be good to go.

Took some pictures with my buddy and his 89 Sierra. He took a video of me off roading and shared it with me, but it's taking a while out in the boonies, so I'll share it later.

I did the seat mod on my XL today, except mine doesn't go down as far as everyone elses. It definitely goes down further than it did, but not all the way.

It was also not a quick mod like I had imagined. Took a good hour to cut the spring, tube, and nut off.

I did the passenger side. Not too impressed. Gonna take another look at it tomorrow.

My catch can came in the mail today. Where are you guys mounting yours? I'd like to mount it next to the brake booster, but I'm gonna have to fab up some kind of bracket.

Well the dead battery from this morning was replaced from Oreillys and it's right at the same specs as the Optima red top. Well the alternator went out after I replaced the battery go figure. But the high output alternator was 10 bucks cheaper score. After asking questions here. (Thanks for the help!) Boom plugged right up and works great so back on the road and ready for our beach excursion this weekend.

Glad it worked out. Did you get your daughter to the cardiologist?

Got pissed off that my center jump seat lid wouldn't unlatch, so I had to take a screwdriver to it to pry it open. Doing so, it no longer stays locked, the springs holding the lid keep it about 2" open.

So I yanked the entire thing out. Didin't like it anyway, as I've had custom consoles in my previous '96 Tahoe, '90 Suburban, '88 S-10 Blazer, '84 Ford Tempo, and my first vehicle, an '83 Chevette (yeah, imagine me at 19 yrs old, all of 6'7 and 230 lbs, squeezing into a 2-door Chevette - I took the seats out, drilled holes 4" further back in the floorboards, and bolted 'em back in.)

Disassembled the jump seat, saved the fabric for a seat repair, and tore off the foam. Cut the extraneous metal off, got down to just the bare "bridge" frame that bolts under the front seats on either side. Just over 3/4" under the "bridge" to the tranny hump, I made a 13" x 42" bottom and screwed it in under the frame. measured how high the side pieces needed to be (5 1/2" ) to fit under the dash trim, and made a box the full perimeter of the available space.

Don't know exactly what I'm going to do from here... I may just make a center console to hold crap, with (2) 4" cupholders (gotta have space for the 52oz Big Gulp!), or I may put my (2) 10" Powerbass S-10 subs in there, and mount the amps underneath like I did with my '96 Tahoe.

Will have pics without the jump seat, and the start of the console base. It's going to take a while, as I don't know if I want to wrap it in vinyl, wrap it in carpet, a combination of both, or Fleckstone the whole damn thing (kinda like Herculiner, but in colors).
