One of the worst suvs ever built.
I would love to have an older 7.3 excursion tho.
But expedition's are straight garbage.
Yeah I tried talking her into an excursion, but an old friend of hers had one with the v10 and they had trouble with it, plus they are starting to show their age.

At the end of the day its the wifes primary vehicle since she's shuttling the kids around most of the time during the week.

That's why I said 7.3 and not the v10 lol. 7.3 would take some maintenance but go forever. But not a ideal fit for a mother's dd. I would've looked at armadas or sequoias before expeditions.
Either way finger crossed for this one :angels2:

I did look at both of those. They are a little smaller, and she wants a big ol suv with captains chairs in the second row. It makes accessing the third row much simpler for the kids.

I still have to do my swap. I'm using a stock setup tho. Gonna see if I can swap for the ppv spec calipers. How'd you make out? Was bleeding them a pita?
Tried to use my home made garden sprayer, but it just leaked fluid all over at the master cylinder. Gonna have my kid help me with the old fashioned way here shortly.

Got the brakes all buttoned up. Had my kid help me bleed them. All I can say is DAMN! This thing finally stops. I used to get horrible shimmy when I'd slow down for corners or stop lights after I added the 2" wheel spacers. Now no more wobble and really feels like it's gonna stop now. I also added those 1" spacers on the LCA underneath the Jounce stops. They seem to have really tightened up my steering as well , as I had a bit of play before. So all around it stops a lot better and it handles a lot more responsively. The rotors almost completely fill the inside of my 17's and it looks like I've got a big brake kit now.

Did you gravity bleed the calipers first? Then pump them? Did all four I assume. I can't wait to do mine.

I mounted my wideband gauge today. Still have to actually install it but that will have to wait until it's needed. Also will change the face to black to match my factory gauges as well as cm the push pins. Looks good though, and it's easy to see without moving my eyes much. Perfect for when I'm mashing the throttle.

I installed a load resistor on my left brake light so my cruse control works with my LED tail lights, the non-switchback LED turn signals (just as bright as the switchbacks, but don't end up with white glare all over, and just looks better to me), and installed the second 9011 HIR1 bulbs so I have 9011 HIR1's in both the high beams and projectors.

I had him get in and start pumping. Worked them RR, LR, RF, LF. Just did it the old school way in the end and they bled out fine and clean. As far as driving it, didn't really notice any difference in pedal movement as I already had HydroBoost, but it does feel more firm at the bottom of the pedals travel, which it about halfway to the floor. That's a change I'm assuming came from the stainless braided lines. It does stop considerably faster than before and the added jounce pucks seem to keep it from diving as hard. I've changed so much in the last few weeks, I can't say what did what. But with the new tranny, the brakes upgraded, suspension fixed, CAI, and the exhaust cutout, it's like I got handed a new vehicle. I've got my eyes set on a BB Autocal, after that, I think I'll be good for the summer.

I have never seen the jounce stop pucks. Where did you get them? I think I could use a set of those to help the drive ability.

After all that the BB tune will bring it all together and make the suspension and brake upgrades even more worthwhile. You'll have a new truck for the second time.

That is a mod for lifted trucks with a crank. You want to keep the jounce bumper in contact with the lca there.

It might be worth taking a look @ your jounce stops though, if those are degraded that would hurt the ride/suspension performance in a similar way.

Front end is looking good. Are those Street Scene grille inserts?
