So it was 460 lbs of metal , worth $36. That should pay for the dump run that’s coming next.:) The Beast weighs in at 5840 lbs.

Finished stripping the chrome off the grill.... this sucked!

But im ready to start the prep for painting!

As for the center portion I'm going to re plasti-dip it. It has way too much detail to try to peel the plasti-dip off and strip the chrome. Plus the matte finish of the plasti dip will go well with the gkoss black of the grill.

And I got the bug for the headlight switch. Found one that looks perfect for $25 shipped. I’ll just swap the Esky knob over. I want to re-enable the auto headlight function since I’m running Morimoto HID’s with their relays instead of the cheap ones I had issues with. I use the auto headlights on The Machine with the same setup and no blown ballasts there. Not to remember how I disabled that. BTW you would think the Esky switches would have the indicator lights but nope.

Replaced my intermediate steering shaft. Super easy job, except for the one nut. GM is good at that shit.. this should address my clunking noise going over bumps, and dips, etc.. clunking steering noises in general. Gotta make dinner, so test drive will have to wait. The alignment of the steering wheel looks good.. hopefully.. I held it in place with the seatbelt.

And had to use a trick to keep the nut on the socket. This thing was a ***** to get to:

And the steering looks pretty dead on. Fingers crossed.. don’t want to go get an alignment..

ETA: happy to report my steering clunk is gone! And so far, steering wheel seems perfectly straight and aligned. Success! [emoji106]

Is the new shaft that different in length, or is it a photo trick?

Bad thing is that the knob is not serviceable, comes with the switch.
Switch is discontinued with gm.
Thanks! And: Dammit! [emoji16]

Well... found one on Fleabay... too damn expensive @ $55. I saved it, and about 30 minutes later, he offered me ~17% off. Ah hell... bought it. [emoji23]
